Beautiful, rich caramel malt backbone. Light citrus and fruity notes. Sweet but finishes clean, with tonnes of taste for a 4.7 ale/lager.

Growler directly from the brewery. THe beer was 4 days old when i drank it. Great aroma of bready, nutty malts. Lots of sweet grains, and some subtle hops. The flavor is full bodied, and satisfying. More bready, grainy malts. THis was a real treat.

Pours a clean rich amber colour with a bubbly-frothy warm beige coloured head that goes down slow enough, and leaves foamy lacing. Cereal grain malts in the nose with some fruitiness, mild caramel sweetness and hints of nuttiness. The hops do come out eventually, releasing some grassy notes. The taste is mostly sweet with the caramel malts and some fruitiness blended in. The finish is somewhat bitter with a dry mouthfeel lingering. I find this one a little too rich to have more. Prefer the Lug Tread over this one.

Had this one on cask at the Arrow & the Loon in Ottawa. Cloudy deep amber colour with a beige head that has great retention and light spiderweb lacing. The nose was fruity with some malt. Notes of apple cider could be scented and yeast as it went. The mouthfeel was nice and lightly dry. The taste was very mild with caramel malt, grains and hints of butterscotch. This was a great one to have on cask, just chilled, not cold and it did get better (flavours) as it breathed. It was nice to have the last glass available on cask, and fit well with the bison burger I had.

Draught @ The Boathouse, Kitchener. Pours hazy copper brown with airy off-white head. Clear aroma of malt, with notes of caramel and yeast and touches of bread. Dusty and sweetish flavour of malt, caramel and bread, with notes of hops and yeast. Bitterish and slightly estery aftertaste. Slightly watery, despite the medium to high carbonation. Nice, especially for the non-native style,

Bottle at my Uncle’s place. It pours a clear amber with a thick fluffy lightly beige head. Fruity, yoghurt & caramel malts - interesting. Light bodied verging on thin. Bitter dark malts with fruity plum, raisins & figs & a sharp finish. Once it warmed up it became nuttier, maltier and less fruity plus that yoghurt quality vanished boosting it’s rating but after the nice patio saison this was disappointing.

Bottle from the LCBO. Clear copper pour with a generous tan head. Biscuit, grass and light caramel on the nose. Sweet toffee start with a balancing hop bitterness following and some nuttiness and spice. Medium mouth with average carbonation with the bitterness lingering to dry out the finish.

Bouteille 600ml.

Alright for the style. My mistake was drinking this one on Quebec microbrew night between so many amazing beers. Anyway it pours cloudy amber, no lacing. Smells a little like fresh tobacco. Some of that woody bitterness around in most alts. On cask at volos.

Another decent Beau’s drink. Has the same kind of raw grainy taste that I’ve come to associate with a lot of their brews. A god kind of caramel barley smell. Taste follows on the same vein, with a nice bitter barley finish. Colour is brownish red. Alright. Bottle.

Unassuming aromas, very light caramel ,rock candy, liquorice. Copper color, moderately clear with average head. Malty flavors with biscuit accents. Hoppy finish. No particular flavors are sticking out beside regular malts and hops. Light tasting beer, low in alcohol. Goog malt / hop balance tough. That’ s what I would call a light, quench thirsting, summer beer.
