This bière de garde is brewed with a large amount of hops with a strong aroma, which ensures a very fruity, spicy and at the same time bitter taste. In the glass, this blond beer has a clear base with a nice creamy head. The citrus aroma is evident in the fragrance. Finally, St Glinglin houblon has an interesting bitter aftertaste.

Bottled (thanks to mom & dad!). Golden colour, mediumsized white head. Aroma is mild floral and grasys notes with some malts. Flavour is fruity, grassy, floral and some maltyness. Quite much bitterness in the finish.

Draft sample @ Arden BrewFest.

75cl bottle from a small shop in Godewaarsvelde, French Flanders. - Wonderful aromatic hops in the nose with crisp citric bitterness. Strong grapefruit hop notes on a basis of light malts with a tender, honey-like sweetness. Strong bitter finish. - Very nice IPA from France.

Medium snowwhite head over pale golden, finely carbonated beer. Fresh, citrussy-hoppy nose; more as USA aromahops than EU ones. Slightly soapy, quite fragrant. Faintly peanuts waft. Again rather fresh-tasting; bit citrussy, again somewhat soapy-perfumey. Refreshing for sure. Rather light body; refreshing indeed, but also not much beef to the MF. Nice try, worth trying.

Bottle at Craft Beer Clerkenwell thanks to Ian, 09/03/13. Hazed pale blonde with a thin white head, little floaters/sediment are evident in this one! Nose is lemon, grass, spice, herb, touch of mint. Taste comprises all the same notes as the nose without the mint. Medium bodied, light spritz in the carbonation, dry finish, Ok.

Bottle shared at CBC Clerkenwell, London. Big thanks to Ian. Pours hazy yellow with a sturdy, white foam head. Some florals and straw in the nose. Light to medium sweet flavor, some white ash, hay, dry dough. Fairly dry, some light grass, white bread, dough. Interesting and pretty tasty.

bottle 0.75l from saveur-biere.com. Clear, perhaps slightly hazy, very pale yellow colour, mid-sized white head. Lovely hop aroma, reisny-grassy. Light- to medium-bodied, elegant malty base that supports the delicious resiny-grassy hops very well. There is a touch of lemon there. Delicious hops, you can almost chew the beer. Not too bitter but very, very aromatic! Superb hop profile, can’t get enough of it. Brilliant!
