Barrel-aged Molten Double Chocolate Fudge Cake Supreme
We put double the amount of cocoa nibs per litre than we’ve ever used on any of our beers before, added a touch of fudge and stuffed it into a big, fat imperial stout that we’ve been aging in bourbon barrels for over a year. If you melted down the world’s most chocolate-y cake and made a beer of it, it would probably taste something like this… but with a very sensible 12.1% ABV.

Can sample at a tasting at Yoav's place. Black. Big chocolate, bourbon, vanilla, fudge, caramel, sweet, chewy, full-bodied. Wonderful.

Shared can at Lervig Local, Stavanger, on Lisa's birthday. Pours dark brown with almost no head. Aroma of chocolate, whiskey, coffee, caramel. Tastes very sweet with little bitterness. Full bodied. A nice birthday or dessert beer

Can picked up from Beer Republic webshop, nr Breda, Netherlands and consumed at home Saturday 15th May 2021 we had Tuna Steaks tonight with a Greek Salad for tea tonight. Watching Looper on Netflix. Pours shark eye black with a light beige or perhaps actually a tan head. The nose is chocolate, coconut, vanilla and caramel. In the mouth this is thick, indulgent, however very sweet, super sweet. Caramel, coconut, fudge, and chocolate combine with the barrel ageing components, so expect a little boozy bourbon, some light oakiness, vanilla, it's a little like drinking a melted down chocolate bar, but I definitely keep picking up coconut, I miss check the ingredients list to see if this is in it. It's fine enough but sometimes you can overdo things and I think that Lervig have here with this, it's far too sweet for me.

Så og si svart med brunt lys brunt skum. Lukter mørk sjokolade, kakao, alkohol, kaffe. Sjokolade, vanilje, salt lakris i smak. Fyldig og søt avslutning.

KYG 221120. Black color with a brown head. Aroma is chocolate, marsmallows, bourbon. Flavor is chocolate , marshmallows, brownis, bourbon, caramel, vanilla, raisin. Wow . Very nice beer.

Pours black, medium thick, fast fading darkly tanned head. Scent shows some booze, but has a very intense cocoa base. actual cacao, with a roastyness that reminds of coffee, rather than the sweetness wev'e grown accustomed to in chocolate. Taste is very full, intense bourbon barrel, as well as wood. Rich base with much cocoa. Very similar to some of the (great) stouts I've had by Cycle, but with a touch more bitterness to balance things out (as cycle can be VERY sweet) . This one here still is sweet though ! Thickbodied, lower side in terms of carbonation. Still has a crunchy, coockie like finish to it as well. Quite enjoyable !The last release set here in BE contained multiple Lervigs at this price point ( 13.5 in smaller shops, whereass other lervigs are about 5 each in those shops ). I'm not to sure on the giant price difference, as the quality they've put out in those 5 euro beers was also pretty darn fantastic. But so is this, and at the end of the day, you get what you paid for. An awesome Imperial stout by Lervig!
