During a prolonged maturation of almost four years the Lambic on Foeder 21 went through a madeirisation process. This Lambic is blended with Lambics of two other foeders of the same origin, all used for white wine in the past, creates a unique tasting experience.

Bottle via the interweb. It pours lightly hazy orange whty thick, foamy white head. The aroma is bright, zingy, layers of sherbert and refreshers, parma violets, sherbert dib dab, rather fruity, white grape, sour, funky, barnyard and hay. The taste is crisp, firmly dry, puckering, bright, tart, spritzy, zingy citrus, sherbet, refreshers, light minerality, granny smith apple, white grape, gooseberry, sour candy, musty, funk, hay, oak and just a touch of acidity with a dry finish. Medium body and moderate, effervescent carbonation. Bright and playful. Lovely balance. Delicious.

2021-09-18, bottle from Firefly, Vancouver, bottled 15-02-2019, 2.5 years old, 7-5-8-4-16=40
Golden colour. The aroma is a bit footy, funky, zesty. The flavour is sharp, with strong acid, light acetic, moderate lemon/citrus/yuzu, some funk.
Very good.

2019-09-19, bottle from The Gull, North Vancouver, corked, 7-4-8-4-15=38
Hazy golden colour. Strange aroma, medicinal, light mint. Highly carbonated; moderate acidity, but higher than the average Oude Gueuze, lemon, green plums, faint white wine.
Very good.

375mL bottle, pours a hazy copper with a small white head. Aroma brings lots of barnyard funk, citrus, and leather. Flavour is quite tart and citric, with lots of leather, horse blanket, and some white wine notes. Vinous, citric finish. There's almost an aspartame character to this. Very unusual gueuze, but I'm down with this.

375ml bottle at Matt's. Vintage 2019. Appearance: a bit hazy golden with a white head. Aroma: not very nice, some chemical notes, funk and wood. Taste: along the same lines. Overall: not a fan.

Bottle at the brewery. Didnt take extensive notes as this was between ratebeer and brewver . This geuze has a specific freshness to it, reminding of minth. Strange, but unique, and not bad at all. ( no mint was added, to those who wonder, I asked ) . very different from the other geuze's they've put out

375 ml bottle, bottled 15/02/2019. Golden-amber, slightly hazy body, with a small, quickly dissipating head. Aroma with lots of green apple. wet wood, basement, moderate cheese, musty, lemon zest. Tastes quite similar, while with more crisp barrel notes, a bit more cheesy funk. Medium, slick mouthfeel, with a lively carbonation. Finishes crisp, quite dry, wooden, musty, citric, a bit funky, with lots of green apple skin again. Tasty! Very crisp, with a distinctive green apple character, while also with lots of lovely barrel notes in the taste. Just enough funk for a good depth and overall very fresh to drink. Maybe a bit too much carbonated yet, might be even better with some age. Great stuff, as always from Oud Beersel. Score: 8 / 4 / 8 / 4 / 17
