(Draught at Oliver Twist, Stockholm, 21 Feb 2020) Pale amber colour, hazy, with frothy white head. Fruity, spicy nose with notes of orange, coffee, tonka beans, dried fruit, flowers and vanilla. Fruity, herbal taste with dried fruit, citrus, tonka beans, apricots, flowers, vanilla and a mild spicy bitterness. Medium body, with a certain sweetness. Tasty and quite interesting. Stout? Nope, hardly. Nice? Sure.

Keg at the Weather Station, Reading. Cloudy yellow-gold with a thin white head. Aroma put me off a bit - smelt of dirt, white chocolate and particularly rough coffee - the sort that you get in a greasy spoon that doesn't ever clean the coffee machine. The taste wasn't too great either. You remember those milk bottle sweets from when you were a kid. Imagine if some of them had been dropped on the floor, kicked around in the dust for a bit and then stamped on with muddy boots. That's what this beer tasted of. It's a dirty, dirty brew. I'm not sure if this keg was old or there was something wrong with it, but as I had it in the brewery's own pub I'm happy to rate it as I found it. The only plus point was the nice full, smooth mouthfeel, but that wasn't enough to make up for the other faults. So, my dislike of white stouts continues.

Keg @ That Beer Place, Chester. Pours misty gold, aroma of coffee., Vanilla, dark chocolate. Taste has good espresso roast and dark chocolate on a deliciously sweet bed of spicy vanilla. Excellent spicy toasty vanilla white stout.
