Na een herfstige boswandeling door dwarrelende blaadjes en vallende druppels is het heerlijk om thuis je schoenen uit te trekken en een warm haardvuur aan te steken. Lekker nagloeien met een boek en een glas Sintel om de kruidige herfstgeuren nog even vast te houden.
Sintel bevat geroosterde wilgenbast die zachte toetsen van bruine basterdsuiker, wierook en kruidnagel geeft, wat prachtig samengaat met de donkere karameltonen van de mout. Het bier heeft 8 maanden op eikenhouten vaten gelegen, waardoor je een lichte hint van vanille kunt ontdekken. Het is vergist met Mud King, een blend van wilde gisten van over de hele wereld, die bijzonder fruitige aroma’s aan het bier geeft. Een zacht zure smaaksensatie met een lichte bitterheid waar de tannines van de wilgenbast in doorklinken. De zijdezachte afdronk maakt het genieten compleet.

0.375 l bottle from 'Craftbeers', batch #3, 2024 vintage. Slow gusher. Hazy, dark reddish amber with a medium large, foamy, slowly diminishing, off-white head. Slightly sweetish, sourish, gently funky and vinous-fruity aroma of caramel, brett, leather, red berries, red wine and some oak. Minimally sweetish, quite sour, gently vinous-fruity and slightly funky taste of lemon, red wine, red berries, oak, caramel and a touch of leather, followed by a medium long, fairly tart, slightly woody-dry finish. Medium body, quite astringent and fairly effervescent mouthfeel, lively carbonation. Probably my final ever Nevel brew, as interesting as usual, fairly complex stuff.

(Draft at Arendsnest, Amsterdam, 16 Aug 2025) Hazy brownish amber colour with brief head. Fruity nose with notes of oak wood, dried fruit and hints of vinegar. Fruity, tart taste with oak wood, vinegar, dried fruit, caramel, spices and yeast. Hardly any bitterness. Almost full body, with a slight sweetness. Tart, woody and complex. Interesting. Very nice.

Tap at Arendsnest, 1st September 2025. Pours an off clear brown red. Aroma is tart, complex. Taste is woody, tart, fun and complex.

Несмотря на редкий стиль и дико длинное описание по вкусу просто хороший саур, что то типо сизона наверно. Есть сено, немного карамели, и немного травы, от неё сухость.

Bottle. Gusher. Dark brown with big beige head. Sweet malts, chestnuts, overripe peach, touch is moke, bread crust, black berries, light yeast. Medium sweet and sour, less bitter. Over medium bodied. Quite different from the earlier batches, quite nice stuff again!

Bottle pour at MBCC 2025 (Red session), pours a cloudy dark chestnut amber brown with a small white head. Aroma has a nice red berry character, along with aged wood, wild yeast, and fermented out brown sugars. Flavour has aged wood, dark dried fruits, and a touch of toffee. Finishes oaky, malty, fruity, and dry. Very good.

Bottle pour at MBCC 2025, red session. Pours murky brown with a white head. Wood, leather, gentle tartness on the nose. Flavour has earthy yeast, moderate acidity, wood, leather. Nice.

Bottle from Drankenhandel Leiden. Aroma is malt, bark, oak, tart fruits, leaves, berries, earthy notes, light funky. Flavour is lightly sweet and medium sour. Body is medium. Nicely sour, woody and leavy, tart fruits. Very nice.
