Possibly the most ambitious beer we’ve made to date. We wanted to create something that had extreme drinkability but with an ABV you wouldn’t believe... Simcoe takes centre stage, backed up by Centennial and Mosaic. There’s a light sweetness that is backed by fresh pine and hints of lemon zest.

330ml bottle. Clear orange colour with a small white head. Aroma is piney, resinous, tropical fruits, mango. Taste is fruity, resinous, mango, pine, light sweet, moderate bitterness, warming booze. Medium bodied, smooth, fine carbonation. Dangerously drinkable TIPA.

Keg @ Vocation & Co, Hebden Bridge. Cloudy yellow with a small head. It has a slightly dry tropical fruitiness and tastes nothing like its strength with hints of coconut amongst more dominant sugars.

Bottle, picked up at the brewery. Dark gold. Light haze. A few floaters. Thin and sticky, lasting, leggy, white head. Nose has clean, sweet biscuit malts. Pine needle. Cut bark. Squeezed citrus. Some pineapple. A bit dank. A bit sticky. Taste is chewy and sweet, with a robust, piny, sweaty bitterness. Clean mouthfeel, given the hefty ABV. Soft carbonation. Medium bitterness to finish. I’m getting into this brewer’s beers more than I thought I might. They’re nice and clean, and don’t rely on a load of oats to make them “drinkable”.

Bottle from The Beerhive. Hazy golden body with a thin white head. Low carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of grapefruit, pine and orange. Flavour of marmalade, syrup and grass. Medium body with an oily mouthfeel. Soft fizz. Buzzing with hops. Remarkably drinkable for the ABV.

Keg, one-third pint at Bundobust. Misty golden body, patchy surface, clingy lacing. Mid-dry fruity aromas mango and. peaches. Taste of mango. apricot and pine, lightly malty sweetness beneath. Lingering fruity bitterness to the ending. Fine depth and well hidden alcohol. Tasty. (Manchester 03.05.2018).

Smaksprøve fra fad hos Søkernes Ølbar mai-18: lett uklar lys gylden med ok skum. Overraskende tørr aroma og smak for en imp.ipa å være. Overmodne tropiske frukter, engelsk bitterappelsinmarmelade, inntørkede mandariner. Quite underwhelming, but I'm willing to give ut another go.

Very light haze on this gold beer, small pale cream colour head. Palate is light and mildly dry, decent fine carbonation. Light malts provide a decent sweetness. Hops bring a nice mix of mildly spicy tangerine and mild piney mango. Little creamy malts on the finish. Pretty well joined up and certainly very drinkable.
