Can from Smugglers Records, Deal, 02/06/18. Hazed orange golden with a big old Mr Whippy off white cap. Nose is bitter orange, citric pith, melon, toasted grains, tangerine. Taste comprises orange pith, mineral bite, airy malts, melon, tangerine, straw, light pine, orange wine gums. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close peppered with balanced hop bitterness. Decent enough IPA.

Can. Hazy gold beer, very tall pale cream colour head. Palate is light and fairly dry, decent fine carbonation. Airy malts provide a modest sweetness at best. Bitterish hops. Some hop spice. Bitter thin orange and orange peel. Savoury skunk. A little more malt sweetness comes through at the end but there is tangy bitterness as well. It's fine but I am getting a little bored of tangy thin IPAs. A good IPA needs a decent malts base.

Review based on the BJCP2015 guidelines (style 21A). Can 44 cl - Batch 167 (BBF 18.12.18). AROMA: medium hop aroma with floral, pine, with a green-like character. starting to show oxidation. neutral malt background. APPEARANCE: gold color and clear. medium off-white head with good retention. TASTE: medium hop aroma with a fresh character and slight grapefruit notes. malt background with sweetness to balance a medium-high bitterness. finishes almost dry and bitter. PALATE: medium-light body with medium carbonation. OVERALL: a nice "american" ipa that is starting to age.

Can from Moonshine Billy's off licence Ramsgate. Hazy orange gold colour lasting white head. Orange, tangerine, grapefruit, pineapple aroma. Yes very light dankness, but lots of good hoppy fruity dry hopping. Mix of citrus and tropical fruits. I thought decent enough. A bit too much on the hop for me. Moderate bitterness on the finish..
