Extinct is the final destination for the endangered series. We took our imperial porter, Critically Endangered, and aged it in Buffalo Trace bourbon barrels. This beer contains 7 different malt grains and is hopped with German and British varieties. It has then taken two massive hits of vanilla, first load in the barrel and the second when it came out! This a milestone beer for us at Neon Raptor, we hope you enjoy it as much as we do.

There is no need to age this beer, we have done that for you.

22st January 2022
Tasting at Chez Bois. Almost opaque dark brown beer, a few tan bubbles. Smooth palate, pretty modest fine carbonation. Smooth dark malts, smooth dark chocolate. Mild vanilla. Ripe fruits on the back end. Very mellow bourbon that is slightly bitter on the back end. Not bad at all, just lacking in the mouthfeel department.

330ml bottle. Pours black with almost no head. Aroma of chocolate, bourbon, vanilla. Taste of bourbon, chocolate, vanilla, dark fruits, caramel, booze. Medium-full bodied, smooth but almost flat. Great beer but I don't think this did anything to improve upon Critically Endangered, it's just a lot more bourbon flavour.

Tap@Mikkeller Vik Neon Raptor TTO, Copenhagen (06/05/2019) - pours black with a thin beige ringed head. Dark sweet and roasted malty, notes of opulent chocolate, some caramel, full bodied, bourbon and vanilla accents coalesce into the finish. Gorgeous.

On keg at the Hanging Bat. Appearance - dark brown almost black. Crema head. Nose - coconut and dark chocolate. Wood spice. Taste - more of the Bounty Bar thing. Also ginger and cinnamon I think. Palate - medium bodied plus and creamy. Good linger. Overall - fairly straightforward beer but good.
