Can from Westhill Service Station. It pours jet black with a decent deep tan head. The aroma is bitter - sweet, sticky, rich roasted malt, umami, charred action, maple glazed donut, chocolate, nutty, pecan pie, fudge and rocky road. The taste is dry, rich roasted malt, bitter - sweet, toasted nuts, slick, toothy, treacle, fudgey, dull maple, chocolate, rocky road, touch of spice, light umami, charred accents and only a bit of alcohol with a dry, roasty bitter - sweet finish. Medium+ carbonation and moderate carbonation. I was worried that this would have been too sweet, but for me personally, this is very nice. Rounded, balanced and moreish.

Can at home in Hackney - picked up from All Good Beer. Pours rich black-brown with a dense, cascading brown foam head. Moderately sweet, hearty, lots of thick chocolate character, maple accents, some fudge, strong roast, a little ash and earth, baking cocoa. Full bodied, lightly oily and chewy, with fine carbonation. Softly warming finish, some sticky dark malts, burnt sugars, more bittersweet dark chocolate, toothy roast, ash, earth. Excellent.

500ml can. Black with a loose tan head. Aroma of pecans, biscuit, chocolate malt. Taste is very nutty and biscuity, heavy on the pecans, sweet maple coming through at the end, with some classic roast/chocolate/caramel malty notes. Feels a bit light/thin for the ABV. Decent though.
