Blackberry Bière du Pays is our restrained approach to a fruited Saison. We added a thoughtful amount of Blackberries to our Bière du Pays to not cloud the nuances of our lovely, little beer, but to add a layer of soft fruit and color for a new experience. Our Missouri yeast and bacteria provide the layers of complexity to this Farmhouse Ale that was aged in wine barrels for several months before being naturally conditioned in the bottle.

Keg at Beavertown Extravaganza, 2017 - London. Pours clear orange-gold with a frothy, white head. Big and tart, strongly acetic, some berries. Light bodied with spritzy carbonation. Quenching, tart, acidic finish. Not bad.

Head gone in seconds, to nearly clear orange-copper beer. Nose of citrus and stonefruit as peach. Lactic acid, fruitacids, again rather peach than black- or any other berries. Slight acidthinning and -burn, bit slick. Aftertaste even reinforces the golden peachflavours. Very good fruitsour, but as to the blackberries...?

Bottle shared at THT April. Bit hazy orange golden with fizzy off white head. Quite some funk, hay, spicy yeast, quite some fruits but I don’t recognize blackberries actually. It’s more peach, redcurrants, apricot. Light malts and dough. A bit of glue and vinegar in the finish. Medium sweet, sour and over light bitter. Medium bodied with soft but fizzy carbonation. Yeah this is the kind of stuff I like!

Keg at Beavertown Extravaganza. It pours lightly hazy orangeish with a small white head. The aroma is fresh, funky, musty, barnyard, cereal, toasty grain, berry skin, sweat, wood and damp leaves. The taste is crisp, crazy tart, good mouth - pucker, funk, damp leaves, sour blackberry, touch of stone fruit, cereal, sherbet, minerals and lemon rinse with a dry finish. Medium body and fine, prickly carbonation. Rather nice funk fruity stuff.

(thanks for sharing!) Sampled draft @ The Beavertown Extravaganza 2017. Day 1. Orange. Nose is vinegar, nail polish blueberry, so sour. Taste is acidic, far too sour, acidic, puckering, nail polish. One note & far too acidic, harsh, no way is this a saison, no too much for me, not really my thing.
