Cork and caged 750ml bottle from a local Lidl (had it a few months): BB February 2025. Shared with Ben on 15th October 2024. Didn't see the 2% ABV when I bought it, never mind it was OK. More like apple juice than a cider though.

Bottle from Lidl, Brooklands. Aroma is sweet with a dry edge. Clear dark gold. Thin foamy white head retreats towards the rim. Initial syrupy sweetness followed by a dry streak. Light-medium bodied. Slick. Sticky. Soft-fizzy carbonation. Long dry slightly astringent finish. Overly sweet.

75cl bottle from Lidl. Pours a clear rusty copper. Aroma of stewed apple fruit. Taste has an appealing deep caramelised sweetness, very soft tannin. Dry finish. Decent, but could do with a bit more tannin.

# 1339; 2/2019. Velice sladký, chuťově plochý, nezajímavý cider. Mírně navinulý a ve vůni lehce sirnatý.

750 ml bottle. Unclear dark golden, foamy head. Ripe sweet apples, apple peel, wood. Fruity sweetness, slight tart dryness. Light bodied, watery oily texture, dry sweet finish. Decent.

Andre Jalbert French Speciality Normandy Cider, Lidl Budějovická, Prague. 0.75l for cheap.. ah the good old times when I ticked a ton of these on my travels in France.... Golden body, bubbly, the head his gone immediately and never returns. Classic fermented-apple aroma, just sliiightly going towards vinegar, but more so on the sugary side and a bit corky. The taste is classic clean industrial cidre doux, red apple juice, sweet, a bit bubbly but not excessively so, quite drinkable, light fermentation traces to keep things somewhat interesting and out of pure soda pop territory. It is what it is. Don't expect a world class cider and you'll be fine - if you like ciders on the sweet side that is.
