Our House Pale Ale, naturally hazy, lightly bitter, easy drinking and thirst quenching. Shaka showcases three flavoursome American hops: Cascade & Chinook deliver refreshing high notes of pine, lime zest and grapefruit, while Citra brings softer, juicier orange and peach. This beer is brewed with malted wheat and flaked barley for a full body and subtle malt character which allows the hops to shine. Popular amongst Toad players to boost aim and stamina.

440ml can from Seven Cellars. Gluten Free. Hazy yellow gold colour, bubbly white foam head and aroma of tropical fruits, citrus, hops. Taste is sweetish, malty, grain, with some zesty fruit, tropical notes, citrus, pine and hop bitterness. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, drying hoppy bitter finish. Quite drinkable.

440ml can (now known as Shaka Original Pale Ale; they've dropped the 'House Pale'. Still 4% ABV, but the hops might have been altered a little too). Anyway, I bought this from Beer No Evil and I am about to drink it in our Air B&B, just down the road late on 19th July 2025. Very pale golden colour, hazed body, weak white head. All a bit watery and fizzy really, some light citrus action and a mini-hop bitterness over a bland maltiness sums it up, a bit of a disappointment to be honest.

Can at Dad's. He liked it when I bought it. This reminded me of the good old days of Neck Oil - easy drinking and good hop profile. (27/12/22) --- Same conditions. Light haze. Good for the abv. 3.6 to 3.4.

Can at home in Hackney - sourced from Beer No Evil. Pours hazed yellow-gold with a small, creamy white head. Lightly sweet, nice and clean, notes of pithy lemon and grapefruit, subtle rindy bitterness, nips of pine, biscuit. Light bodied with fine to average carbonation. Rounded, balanced hop character to finish, supportive pale malts, restrained bitterenss, more pithy citrus. Sound.

On tap at the Hand in Hand, Brighton on 23rd June 2021. Hazy gold with shallow off-white foam and full lacing. Tangy fruity aroma. Citrus, peach and tangerine in-mouth and a crisp finish of grassy hoppiness. A touch of grapefruit peel. Light bodied with a zingy mouthfeel. Refreshing and moreish.

Half-pint, keg, at the brewpub, shared with Finn. Decent white head to a hazy golden body, fair lacing. Promising aromas of pineapple and lemon. Juicy impression with the taste of lemon, pineapple and herbal hops towards the end. Refreshing thirst quencher. (Brighton 17.10.2019).

21/3/2019. Draught at the Hand in Hand, Brighton. As Shaka Keg Pale. Pours hazy/cloudy pale gold with a small white head. Aroma of citrus lemon, herb, yeast and bitter lemon. Light sweetness, medium plus bitterness, light tartness. Moderate body, oily/watery texture, above average carbonation. Dry, watery finish. Least favorite if the five tried here tonight.
