Bought at Liquor Shed.

Pours a clear dark red, small short lived head of foam. Little bit of lacing.

There's a mix of dark fruits in the smell; black cherries, plums, very oaky, Pinot Noir currants very much in your face. Some acetic qualities.

Very vinous taste due to the barrel aging, fruity, some vinegar, woody with some Brett.

Pretty light bodied with zesty carbonation.

For sure, the sourness level is up there. Got my rolaids ready. ;)

2011 37.5 cl bottle aged ever since. Gusher allert. Pours muddy dark redbrown, foam dissapears instantly. Smell and taste confirm the fear : this beer is infected. Acidic, glue-notes over a barrel aspect with mild background sticky chocolaty sweetness. Even though the beer is said to be sour and funky on the bottle, this tastes like infection, more so than a desired tartness by spontaeous fermentation, or even kettle sour or sour mash' this beer is off. They did a good job packing it as a specialty, selling it as a desires aspect of the beer. but it's not. The tastes don't really work together, kinda clash' still drinkable, but not very enjoyable.

Bottle shared with the KL tasting crew. Poured a hazy reddish brown with a bubbly off white head. The aroma is molasses, acid vinegar. The flavour is dry grainiy acid sour with a crisp acidic, vinous dry woody palate. Medium to light bodied with soft carbonation.

Bottle. Little Leeds Beer House. Colour of Sarson’s vinegar. Smells like Sarson’s vinegar (with celery), according to the missus. Some dried fruit and red wine, but it’s not at all integrated. Taste has vinegar and wet cardboard. Flat and dull mouthfeel. Red wine vinegar on the finish. Oh, and some floor polish. Grim. Ordinarily I love this brewer’s beers, but this is an exception.

Bottle split at Leighton's 20K, thanks to Danny, 01/03/17. Chestnut to amber with a decent off white cap. Nose is tangy fruit rinds, herbal cloak, woody, spice, tabasco, earthy. Taste comprises dark fruits, peppery spice, tannins, sharp stewed fruits, apple core, funk, acidic squeeze. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a light puckering climax shrouded in an oaky cloak. Solid enough easy drinking sour coming in below the fairly hefty ABV.
