Our pet octopus is a bit of a jerk. He’s that guy who has a couple then either tells you how much he loves you or threatens to fight you. So we brewed this IPA, with 8 varieties of hops and 8 types of malt. We targeted 88 IBU and 8.8% to appease him. Sadly, when he found out that we’d fabricated all of the above info, it only made him more volatile. We are starting to realize that Octopus was a poor choice for a pet.

Can: Poured a clear golden color ale with a nice white foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of nice citrusy floral hops with light bitter notes is quite enjoyable. Taste is also a mix of citrusy notes with some light bitter notes. Body is about average for style with good carbonation. Enjoyable IPA but it still ranks short of some of the other IPA made by this brewer

Can - Light skunk, big citrus and some wet cut grass. Clear gold with a rich white head. Nice tropical fruits, some citrus and cut grass with just the right amount of bitterness. Very well done.

(473ml can from Herbalist via phyllomedusa, thanks!) Pours lightly hazed pale orange-gold with a moderate white head, dense foam that leaves lace. Aroma is tropical fruit (slightly unripe mango, pineapple), grapefruit, grassy, lightly sweet and crackery malt. Palate is a little less bright on the fruit, focused on citrus pith, grapefruit zest, green mango, grass, a bit of green onion. Light malt, slightly sweet, crackers. Above average bitterness, astringent, grassy hop resin, pine, a little oniony and spicy. Bone dry finish. Light to medium bodied, average carbonation. Another nice IPA from GL, but compared to some of the others, this is a bit less bright, more dank and spicy and bitter.

Can from the brewery. Hazy orange amber with a one finger lingering white head. Nose is full of juicy hops with grapefruit, lemon zest, pine, floral notes, tangerine and a caramel background. Taste follows the nose with tangerine and grapefruit taking the fore and pine in the background with a big juicy bitterness balances with a light+ sweetness. Mouth is medium slick with lively carbonation and a lingering bitter finish. Another Tank 10 beauty. 10-/4/9-/4/17

Enjoyed at the Loon. Pours a hazy golden-amber colour with an average lasting head and a little lacing. Great fruity nose with tropical fruit notes. Grapefruit zest taste at first with some exotic fruits. Mildly dry mouthfeel with a mild bitterness. Pretty nice fruity IPA that I would have again.
