There’s no better way to test your patience than barrel aging. Months go by, but you still want more of the boozy, woody goodness into your beer.

As much as you would want to just forget about it, you find yourself dreaming about cracks and leaks, rushing to check your precious casks every morning.

It’s truly Never Over.

Can 33cl, BB 29/11/2019 @ Niamey Craft Beer tasting, thanks Madalin.

Tap@Peders, Hop Hooligan TTO - black pour with a tan head and lacing. Sweet and medium roasted malty with sweet silky chocolate notes, some toffee and caramel sweetness, brown sugar, full body, prominent resonating bourbon into the dark malty close. Great stuff.

330ml can. Pours black with a thick and lasting tan head, perfect. Aroma of intense bourbon, chocolate, caramel, vanilla. Taste is sweet, rich, bourbon, chocolate, caramel, vanilla, roasted malts, warming alcohol - it's very boozy. Full bodied, soft carbonation. An excellent first attempt at barrel ageing.

Pitch black, dark espresso head with good retention and nice lacing. The aroma has lots and lots of bourbon - vanilla and wood, also spicier notes like tobacco and cloves. The taste is on the sweeter, with a moderate to strong alcohol burn, low perceived bitterness and some spicier fenolic notes. Very smooth mouthfeel - not too inky, not to syrupy, neither too thin. So, in the end, it is not as polished the Buffalo trace version, but sometimes having a few rougher edges makes up for that. Make no mistake, this one's a top-level BA impy.
