Icelandic Pants of the Dead aka "Nabrok" aka "Death Underpants" aka "Necropants" is an American sour and borne of an unholy blend of a foeder beer and an all Brettanoymces IPA. Tart sour notes collide with fresh and fruity hoppy flavor and aroma married together with a classic wild yeast backbone.

On tap at Argus. Pours a hazy earthy orange gold with a near white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has earthy sour red fruits with oak and grass backing. Flavor is quite sour with acidic red fruits, some lemon, oak and a sweet grain backbone.

Tap at the brewpub. Hazy golden with white head. Lots of lactic sourness up front with some oxidized notes, sherry, cardboard and velpon glue. Lots of foederbier notes basically. There’s some lemon and peach, and a bit of tropical fruit. Medium sour and almost medium sweet. Medium bodied. It can definately compete with a lot of other foederbier, though maybe there’s slightly too much glue.

7 oz. taster at Brixie’s. I saved this for last among my four samplers, and this still has a ring of foam at the edge of hazy gold body. Bright funky nose, kind of like a peach sour Gummi. More wild funk of sour apples, horseblanket and Floyds’ generally bad attitude. taste carries through the impressions of the nose, with the addition of a French brut cider. Ends with a grainy edge of maly beer, to remind the drinker what this stuff started out as.

Draft. Lactic lemon/orange, biscuit malt, and light barnyard/hay aroma. Cloudy golden yellow with small head. Sweet pineapple/tangerine, biscuit malt followed by strong sour citric acid with just a hint of straw bitterness. Very sour but has a great fruit presence.

Draft: Poured a deep amber color ale with a large off-white foamy head with good retention with some good lacing. Aroma of tart and puckering notes with some nice floral hoppy notes which offset some of the more acidic notes. Taste is a nice mix of acidic and puckering tart notes offset by floral hoppy notes with light citrus and piney undertones with some residual sugar notes that can also be detected. Body fuller then average with great carbonation. Greta mxi of different flavours though I am not sure I would want to have this on a regular basis.

A hazed golden sour ale with a thin white head. In aroma, wonderful mix of green lemons, acetic notes, guava candy, light mineral notes, beautiful. In mouth, a tart puckering sweet pink grapefruit concentrate, intense and complex. On tap at brewery.
