Beer made with 100% locally grown, harvested and malted barley. Part of the malting process is to dry the grains over an open fire for 3 whole days, the way it has been done in Stjørdal for a very very long time. No hops at all! Yeast is harvested from local fruits and gives it own unique character. 100% local to Stjørdal!

Canned (from Vinmonopolet Kirkenes). Golden colour, small white head. Aroma is smoked, some toasted and mild sweet malty tones. Flavour is malty, some smoked tones with mild earthy. tones. Lovely.

Can at Tautra, bought in Trondheim. Pours hazy amber with big off-white head. Aroma of smoke, dark bread, orange jam, sour fruits. Tastes slightly sweet with some fruity sourness, little bitterness. Medium bodied, alcoholic warmth.

Golden colour, small white head. Smokey and ashy aroma. Medium-bodied. Sweet malty and very smokey (ham). Straightforward.

Sløret gylden med offwhite skum. Aroma tjære røyk malt. Smak malt røyk torv tjære krydder sitrus humle. Tydelig røykpreg, men god smak.

Can. Unclear orange golden body With floaters and a small foamy white head. Strong and nice aroma with lots of campfire and smoke. Flavor is unsurprisingly strong campfire and smoke as well, resin, sweet malt and resin. Nice body and smoky aftertaste. Pretty one dimensional and almost unbalanced, but it’s sure deliver on the smoky side. Aroma and and flavor actually feels better isolated than the total impression of this beer. Still nice., in particular if you like the style.

KØLF 160819. Golden-orange color with an off-white head. Aroma is bonfire, yeast, malt. Flavor is bonfire, yeast, juniper, smoked, caramel, bacon. Weird beer.

Ok, andre skryter, og jeg er ingen pingle på stjørdalsk maltøl, men dette blir for søtt og for sur-røyk og kanskje også kreosot for meg.

Shared can at local tasting. Hazy golden colour, white head. Intense aroma of smoked fish, smoked meat and bonfires. Extreme smoke flavour, undrinkable for me.

RBHD-samling hos RB-Bryne, deep into enemy territory but surrounded by comrades in arms and closing in on target: 0,44 boks. Lett uklar gylden med kort skum og ubåter i sikte. Røykmalt (arggh!), grunnsmøring av treski, speiderbål osv. Endimensjonal. Men så har jeg også en aversjon mot de kraftig røykpregede øl.
