On tap at a bar. Aroma has a nice pale malt and cereal note with a touch of bread. Light floral hop notes. A bit of esters. Pours a very clear, golden color with a moderately sized white head that falls into itself quickly then settles info a small head that lingers. Good lacing and small legs. Flavor is moderately sweet with a light malt note of white bread, grain and cereal. Low bitterness with some light floral and spice hop notes. Some light ester character with hints of stone fruit and pear. Mouthfeel is light bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, an alright beer with a bit too many esters and too sweet. Nothing amazing, but not really offensive either.

Review based on the BJCP2008 guidelines (style 2B). Bottle 33 cl - Batch M0723. AROMA: grainy sweet aroma with faint floral hop notes. no esters. APPEARANCE: dark gold and translucent. thin white head with average retention. TASTE: faint sweet malt flavour with low bitterness. semi-sweet finish and absent hop flavours. PALATE: low body and low carbonation. OVERALL: a czech bohemian pilsner that lacks complexity on the malt and hop front and with thin body.

Bottle from Liquor Mountain in Japan. A pretty average bohemian pils, better than the macro-American swill but not by that much. Somewhat damaged in transit-the green bottles don’t help. A pale gold, white fizzy head with a crackery lightly bready malt aroma with minimal to no hops. The taste is crisp fairly clean and light. Refreshing on a hot day but not really that interesting. Decent enough.
