Pistil Whipped is a blend of sour blond ales aged in oak wine barrels with late infusions of saffron and chamomile. Pouring a rich golden-yellow from the saffron’s distinct color, this unique botanical blend captures saffron’s earthy, hay-like spice character with gentle floral and honey notes from the chamomile tea.

375ml bottle thanks to Kenny. It pours clear oily bright luminous yellow - amber with a thick, fluffy yellowy white head. The aroma is oily, sappy, sticky, floral, fragrant, chamomile, sherbet, candied peel and Turkish delight. The taste is crisp, dry, tart, zingy, bright, puckering, sherbet, fizzy cola bottles, minerality, refreshers, lemon peel, fragrant, floral and chamomile with a drying finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Novel, works well.

Clear gold with no head. Saffron, chamomile and honey. Soured saffron, flowery and really weird. If it wasn't exactly as described it may not score so well.

12 oz can. Pours a reddish coper color with pop like carbonation and no head. Aromas of hibiscus, saffron and wood. Flavors follow same with additional red berries and dry wheat. And odd herbal and sour aftertaste. OK

Can from Cask & Barrel. Pours a bright yellowish amber colour with a turmeric head. How much saffron did they put in here? Plenty of saffron on the palate, over top of a clean base sour, that isn't quite as harsh as many Cascades have become lately. It's add character, dominated by saffron and not much chamomile, which makes it more interesting than awesome. Unless you're Persian, in which case it will probably be awesome.

375 c&c from Hi-Time. Pours translucent orange with a yellowish head that didn't run away. Aroma is a bit floral with wood notes. Med body. There's a lot of chamomile in this. Guess saffron was for color. Fairly dry. Tart. Bitter. Non-musty wood. Quite a departure, flavor wise. Quite tasty tho.

Keg at IMBC '19, session 2, 04/10/19. Clear golden copper with a well presented egg shell white covering. Nose is wood must, a little on the thin side, herb, grains, floral whisper, dried fruits. Taste comprises funk, dry rot, much better than the nose, lambic twang about it, dry rot, gooseberry, hedgerow. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, drying close with a balanced acidic flash. Decent.

On tap at Cascade, pours a clear blonde with a small white head. Aroma brings out lots of honey, followed by light saffron and chamomile. Flavour is fairly acidic, with lots of chamomile upfront, followed by a touch of saffron, no hint of honey. Not particularly sweet or complex. Decent.
