Golden Pride is a premium, superior-strength bottled ale.
Brewed to 8.5% ABV, it is equivalent in strength to Belgian Abbey beer or barley wine, and is designed to be consumed in smaller measures than the traditional pint.
Golden Pride is known for its rich malty flavours, good balance, and notes of orange oil, toasted grain and spicy fruitcake. The late Michael Jackson, beer writer and connoisseur, labelled it 'the Cognac of beers'.

50cl bottle from Alko. BBE 12/2013. Amber in color with a lasting, dirty white head. Aroma is bready malt, hops, alcohol, caramel. Flavor has toffee, bread, alcohol, herbs, caramel. Long fruity finish. Alcohol quite strong here. Full bodied, quite enjoyable.

(500ml bottle) Pours a very nice amber with off white head and good lacing but for me that’s where the good stops for me. It certainly has a complex taste but for my palate was far to sweet and i just did not get on with this.

Riktigt gott.

Brown 500ml bottle, best before 18 Dec 09, drank on a cold semi-sunny Sunday afternoon in Nov 09. Poured into a bateman’s branded UK pint sleeve. Looked good, a creamy coloured foaming head sat on top of a dark mahogany, clear body. Toasted malts and rich molasses hit my nose, toffee and treacle but without a sweetness, more a prosperous, well-healed, confident air about it. In short, it smells like a rich persons tipple. That richness carries on into the flavours, very oak wood rather than plywood, delicious, sumptuous and very moorish. I almost forgot it is 8.5%ABV, no wonder it tasted so full, warming and luxurious. There are few beers in the world better than a well made English Strong Ale and this is up there with the best, I take my hat off to Fuller’s, this is one well crafted beer and well worth the extra couple of pence I paid for it.

Bottle: Poured a deep amber color ale with a nice foamy head with good retention and some light lacing notes. Aroma of caramelized malt with light dry malt notes. Taste is a solid mix between some caramelized malt notes with a somewhat dry finish. Body is about average with good carbonation and no apparent alcohol. Nice malt forward English strong ale with well balanced sweetness level though some limited complexity.

Cask at the London Drinker. Pours clear gold with a fine, white head. Some sweet malts and light fruits in the nose. Very sweet flavor, some berries, sugar, light leaves. Medium to full bodied with fine carbonation. Faintly warm finish, light toasted sugar, some sweet dough. Nice.
