Can, small mocha creamy head, opaque very dark brown colour, bittersweet chocolate, dark bread, light smokiness, some dark fruitiness, mellow medium sweetness, just a hint of bitterness. Easy to drink and highly sippable.

Can from Gedeelde Vreugde. Hazy black, stable, foamy, beige head. Aroma of tobacco, toast, wholemeal bread, burnt wood, beef stock, vague bacon. Taste has sweet fig & prune in a brown-bready, bit chocolatey malt body, gentle smoky & meaty-umami note. Earthy hoppy finish with sweet tobacco, some coffee and dried fruits. Very gentle dash of liqueur-like alcohol. Medium body, oily texture, average carbonation. Expected more smokiness but decent Porter anyway.

440ml can Chez Sophie, Shrewsbury. Pours dark brown, large beige head. Gentle smoked malt aroma. Lovely smooth smoky porter overall, could do with a little more carbonation but it's a minor complaint for such a good beer.

Can. Color: Black, thin light brown head. Aroma: Coffee, roasted malt, very light smoky. Taste: Sweetish, coffee, roasted malt and vanilla notes. Again very subtle light smoky. Wheat malt notes. Light fruity hints of dark fruit. Quite smooth and quite dense mouthfeel. Moderate bitterness. Over medium body, below average carbonation. Ok, but I was expecting some more smoke and less sweetness.

Can. Beer Stop, Dronfield. Clear dark brown. Nicely creamy, messy, tan head. Nose has sweet smoke. Bonfire toffee. Dried fruit, particularly plums. Hint of coffee and bitter grain. Taste is similarly sweet, with a soft vinous bitterness. Creamy and smooth mouthfeel. Fine carbonation. Finishes up vinous and smoky sweet. Lovely beer.

Can from RAD. Appearance - matt black with a fluffy tan head. Nose - hazelnuts, light chocolate and a whiff of smoked ham. Taste - caramel, milk chocolate and light smoke. Palate - light to medium bodied, elegantly smoky through middle and finish. Good persistence. Overall - very nice.

Can picked up from Hoptimism website, Loughborough, Leicestershire, UK. Consumed at home Monday 21st December 2020 listening to The Many - The Many, in the company of Xenofon and Anastasia and Itchy the cat, we had Chicken schnitzel and homemade chips for tea and homemade Lemon curd ice cream. Pours black with a creamy head. Roasted malt and coffee dominate the aroma. This is super smooth, nice mouthfeel, a little creamy, smokiness showing but along with the coffee, roasted maltiness and a little burnt edge there is an avalanche of liquorice. This is really good, a really nice smoked porter.
