Can at 5.5%. My first Black IPL. Pours black with decent sized beige foamy head, very good retention. Aroma of dark malt, grapefruit rind, blackcurrant, dust. Taste of citrus rinds, berries, roast, hop spice, pine, dark ;chocolate. Mid bodied, fine carbonation. Enjoyable.

Black beer, thick tan head. Big malty aroma, a little fruity hop. Flavour is big on the malt again, quite toasty, a little pine, some grassy hop. The toastiness and the hop is what lingers into the finish and gives it a pleasant aftertaste.

Can from Beer52. Pours black with beige foam. Aroma: roast, charr, dark chocolate, dark fruits, pine. Taste: light to moderate sweet & moderate bitter, hoppy finish. Dry on the palate. Medium body with average carbonation. Really interesting flavour journey, like a mash up of dark lager & BIPA

Can from Beer52. It pours pretty much black with a decent beige head. The aroma is dark roasted, burnt pine, charred, dark chocolate brownies, cookie dough, juicy dark fruits, figs, plum and jammy vibes. The taste is dry, punchy bitterness, charred, burnt pine, dark roasted malt, dried fruits, Eccles cake, dark chocolate, dark fruits, plum, prune, juicy and a nip of spice and burnt toast through the finish Medium body and moderate carbonation. Punchy and flavourful. Nice one.

[33cl can from Beer52 at 5.5% ABV.] A dark peaty brown pour with a tight beige head; roasted grain aroma; rich roasted malt taste with a solid bitterness to finish. Surprisingly good.

330ml can via Beer52 (5.5% ABV): BB 22nd November 2024, drank at home on 5th February 2024. Black with a soft tanned head that stayed around. Over roasted/singed malty front, aroma and taste wise. Hops kick in mid-sip to give more bitterness and bite.

Can at home, thanks to James, 03/02/24. Lighter shade of black to extremely dark mahogany brown with a good sized lasting khaki head. Nose is earthy roast, dusty red berries, pine needle, blackcurrant, charr. Taste comprises charr, ashen nip, roasted bite, pine needle, berry pips, cocoa sprinkle. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, drying close spiked with earthy hop bitterness. Tidy for the style.

Very dark brown with big tight tan head A - boiled sweets, chocolate, slightly floral F - dark malts and coffee with a boiled sweet disolved in it, a it of ginger? and slight soapiness interesting and quite different, sort of a light stout with hops. Better after it warmed a bit.

Can 33 cl. An almost clear brown with an orange hue. Very lively pour creating a frothy, beige head with good retention. Dusty, roasty nose. Medium body, slightly sweet, roasted malts, somewhat rustic, tobacco and tar with subtle, citrusy aroma hops lingering underneath. Dry more than bitter in the finish. Carbonation to the high side. 081121
