Bottle 6.1%, Cask 5%.
A blend of two iconic flavours packed into a luscious stout.
A match made in heaven! Arguably two of the most loved flavours of chocolate and orange combine perfectly in this rich and deep stout. Big chocolate notes arise from the blend of dark chocolate malt that we use in the mash.Flaked oats are also used to add a velvet-like body which works wonders for this particular style of beer. Dried orange peel is introduced in the hop back to add a subtle citrus note to this flavour packed ale. At 6.1% it has great body and is a super representation of the legendary stout style.

50cl bottle from Schneider´s Getränkemarkt, Cologne. A clear very dark brown beer with a huge most good lasting tan head. Aroma of dark roasted malt, bitter malt, coffee and chocolate. Taste of dark roasted malt, coffee, chocolate, hints of orange fruits. Nice!

Bottle from Booths Supermarket, Media City. Near black with a small creamy off-white head. Has a pleasant roasted malt nose and an easy-drinking texture. Both the chocolate and orange are evident, but both are lightish tasting within the ale.

Bottle from Booths, Penwortham. Pours her black with a thin tan head. Strong dark chocolate aromas, light coffee. Taste is more chocolate. Rich and velvety. Not getting the orange tbh, but a nice stout.

500ml bottle: BB 12th Mar 19. Drank at home on 20th Oct 17. Really enjoyed this, pity I had no Terry's Chocolate Orange in the house because they would have been a great combination. More choc than orange in my bottle, but a rich and smooth bodied beer with a decent level of alcohol within it.

Bottle from Morrisons Folkestone and drunk at home. Black beer lasting tan head. Dark chocolate aroma. Good in mouth. Smooth. More dark chocolate. Light orange flavour. Decent stout I thought. Likeable, dryish. fine. Orange flavour grows on the finish.

Bottle. Morrisons. Just about finished this, when I saw that it's 6.1%. I'd have guessed about 4. Anyway, it's deep, ruby red. Thin, firm, lacing, lasting, beige head. Nose has earthy, woody malts. Some liquorice. Hint of chocolate orange. Taste is ashy and woody bitter. Some dryness. Light body. Soft carbonation. Drinks way under the ABV. Roast malt, earthy bitter finish. Ok. Not too chocolatey or orangey, really, but that's ok with me.

Bottle: Very deep amber coloured with - presumably - a ruby sheen, bigger loose and stable beige head; mild to moderate sourish and bitter aroma of toasted malt and cacao powder, the announced "orangey" fruitiness is hardly detectable; moderate to solid dry bitter-sourish flavour, nearly medium bodied, not so soft; lingering dry bitter-toasty finish with - finally - some orangey-fruity traces. Not bad...
