Cask @ Poulton Elk, Poulton-le-Fylde. Near black with a light-brown creamy head. Has a lovely smooth texture with a pleasing amount of density to it - feels good in the palate. Slightly floral-roasted in aroma, it's more of a stated roasted malt stout in taste.

50cl as "Station Works Foxes Rock Stout" (brewed in N.I. by Cumberland Breweries) .Pours close to black with a modest beige head. Feel a bit cheated here, I thought it would be another NI tick, but then it's England? Even thou it's "handcrafted Irish ales" and brewed in N.I.? But anyway; rather mild roasty aroma with notes of dark, bitter chocolate, dark fruits and hints of wood. Moderate to medium sweet with fairly low flavour intensity and a light bitterness. Drinkable enough.
