Half pint pours a rootbeer color, ring of sort of pinky head. Nose has chocolate and cherry cola, malt. Flavor has some sweet red wine, but mostly cherry cola. Malt. Finished a little watery. Drinkable. Hides 7.6% very well. 7 3 7 4 13

28-09-19 // bottle shared at Mon Petit Cafe Suttgart on Zwanze Day 2019. Bottle thanks to great efforts of gunnar! Bitburger Collab! Unclear dark brownish. Beige lacing. Indeed very well interpretation of an Schwarzwälder Kirsch. Minimal sourish cherry. Roasted malts with choco aromas. Lovely! --- Beer merged from original tick of Verbotene Früchte - on 28 Sep 2019 at 14:28 - Score: 8. Original review text: Bitburger Collab! Unclear dark brownish. Beige lacing. Sheesh, that first sentence of the description: "For over 500 years the Reinheitsgebot has dictated that German brewers can only make beer using barley, hops, water and yeast." Errors: The 1516 law was Bavarian, not German (1). It didn't apply to all German brewers until much - centuries - later (2). There wasn't a Germany until much later (3). They didn't know about yeast then, so it wasn't a permitted ingredient (4). Surely you must have noticed that the Bavarian State Brewery produces a really famous wheat beer? (5) I could go on. Bottle. Very dark red brown with an inch of beige head that fades a bit. Aroma of sour cherries and chocolate with a gentle roasted malt murmur underneath that keeps it smelling like beer. 7+ Smooth with too obvious lactose (although I noticed it less after a few sips), moderate carbonation. There is a nice balance between sweetness, sour cherry and roast/ chocolate. I guess that's the point of the beer and it works well. A little boozy kirsch note wraps things up. Pretty good, not the novelty beer it threatened to be.

Keg at Beaverex '18 Day I, 07/09/18. Black with a well presented tan head. Nose is dark fruits, cherry skins, almonds, roasted malts, light spice. Taste comprises tangy fruit rinds, mellow roast, ashen notes, charr, red berries, light cocoa dusting. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Solid work.

Beaverfest. Keg. Clear deep cherry red beer, small pale cream colour head. Smooth palate, decent fine minerally carbonation. Mild creamy malts. Rich cherry, little Kirsch. Works well, simple but good.

From explosivedog thanks!! Pours black with a beige head. Aroma is chocolate and sour cherries. Tastw is chcolatey, but not excessive. Somewhat sweet. Sour cherries give this a nice hit of sourness. Good.

Flaske fra Vinmonopolet Tromsø - Langnes. Delt med EgilB på Høgda. Svart. Høyt luftig skum med litt farge. Lett sjokoladearoma. Smaken kirsebær. Ettersmak av vanilje. Veldig søt. Schwarzbier? No way. Mye nærmere et fruktøl.

Tap at MCBT. It smells like Black Forest cake and the smooth medium body gives cocoa and cherry notes. Good stuff. I can't believe it wasn't more popular.

Tap @ MBCT Red Session. Dark brown pour, well, basically black. Some white beige bubbles. Nose has light sweetness, dry burnt sugar and liquorice. Taste is stringer than normal in the style extra sweetness, some toffee without extra chocolate. Full on swartzbier. Kind of syrupy finish but still tasty.
