As in the Belgian tradition of brewing Christmas beers, this is our very own version. It is added with orange peel and raisins. The aromas are warming and captivating and swing from nutty to citrus and slight hints of honey. Mouthfeel starts with caramel and honey flavors and lead to cherry and currant flavors with a delicate bitter finish.

APPEARANCE: ambar color and clear. medium ivory head with medium-low retention. some leg formation. TASTE: medium orange and raisin flavor, followed by a medium-low sweet and grainy malt background. medium-low bitterness with an almost dry finish. PALATE: medium-low body with medium-low carbonation. OVERALL: a nice and interesting variation of a belgian strong ale.

On tap at Buskers in Rome-Italy with Mortlach. Chestnut skin pour, ivory foam with retention and many drafts. Nose: raisins, dates, dubbel character but fresher, cleaner and much better. Mouth: 9.5%? Wow! Fresh, clean, complexity of dry fruit with a sour pinch.

Seems like this is the one, don’t mind if it’s merged with the old entry. At Vinocom 2016. Dark amber body. Full, malty aroma, raisins, light light citric touch, mild and sweet. Prickly, sweetish taste, honey, well rounded, ending dry, light berry notes. Not bad overall.

330ml, 8 % abv, in an elegant designed bottle, bought at Vinmonopolet Tromsø Sentrum. Fawn-coloured head. Close to clear dark brown body with a rustic shade. Lacing rings down the glass. Smell of citrus peels and caramel. Rather comprehensive taste profile of red orange, dried fruits, caramel, and berries. Drying ending with a spicy touch. Fine bodied, hidden alcohol. Comfortable sipper (Tromsø 19.11.2016).
