Verwacht van dit bier geen Indian Pale Ale met sterke bitterheid, wel een evenwichtig bier met makkelijke afdronk en waar we experimenteren met op Belgische bodem geteelde aromahoppen.
De Poes Houblon is steeds met Dry-Hop techniek verrijkt, de eerst batch Dry-Hoppen we met de aromahop "Saaz", hiermee beogen we een zacht en aangenaam aroma.
De Poes – Houblon is herkenbaar aan haar groene etiket, de kleur van Hop. Zonder toevoeging van bewaarmiddelen wordt het bier daarom best zo vers mogelijk geconsumeerd, des te meer om de vluchtige Hoparoma's te kunnen genieten. Houdbaarheid 2 jaar max na bottelen.
Het bier kan je genieten uit de fles of in het typische De Poes glas.
Grondstoffen: gerst, water, suiker, 2 Belgische hopsoorten (waaronder Merkur als universele bitterhop gebruikt wordt en de gebruikte aromahop steeds op het etiket vermeld staat).
Gistingswijze: bovengistend
Alcoholpercentage: 5,5 Vol % Alcohol.
Bitterheid: matige bitterheid (25 IBU)

Bottle at home shared with Laura. Hazy yellow orange color with a decent sized white head. Aroma and flavor is malts, a bit hard to describe other than a bit bitter and perhaps lightly herbal. Medium body and carbonation. Okay.

Bottle from Drankenhandel Leiden. Fairly bitter with malt, bready and floral notes, yeast, bit sugary as well. Finishes bitter with more sweetness than I expected. Body is medium. Lacks some depth.

De Poes Houblon - Saaz, 5,5 %, Fläschchen aus Tausch mit Jef. - Sattes, trübes Goldgelb; kurzlebiger Schaum. - In der Nase duftige, leicht parfümiert wirkende belgische (obergärige) Hefe, frische zitronige Hopfung, fein getreidiges helles Malz, Anklänge an Bauernhof, Kellerluft und Leder. - Antrunk weich hellmalzig und knackig zitronig hopfenherb mit bitterer Zitronenschale. Zart hellmalzig, nicht süß. Feine Hefe, sehr dezente obergärige Fruchtigkeit. Milder rezent, kremig vollmundig. Im Abgang kernige zitrusfruchtige und herbale Bittere: hier zeigt der Saazer Hopfen seine vollen Qualitäten. - Sehr schönes, pilsähnlich knackig gehopftes Bier, aber noch als Ale zu erkennen. Mindestens ebenso gut wie das letztes Jahr verkostete Houblon mit Cascade. (7.12.2024.)

330ml bottle @ monthly tasting, Chez Sophie, Oct 22. Misty gold appearance, large frothy white head. Quite fragrant and citrussy this, with some sweet moments. Decent although, confusingly, the label says it's made exclusively with cascade hops.

24th October 2022, mini-gathering in Chez Sophie, Shrewsbury; just the three of us, cheers Mat for the 33cl bottle of this hoppy brew. Misty golden body, white topping. Strangely the rear label claimed it was brewed using only Cascade hops, even though the front label clearly states it's SAAZ! Anyway it was hoppy and Belgian 'yeasty' in nature.

Gedronken tijdens Brabantsbierfestival. Geel tot amberkleurig bier met wit schuim. Aroma is fruitig. Smaak is licht bitter en zacht fruitig. Nasmaak is iets bitter maar snel weg met als gevolg dat het te snel wegdrinkt.

Geprobeerd met LiekevdV, Inoven, Roelzie en Juul op het Brabants Speciaalbier festival in Oirschot. Het is een helder oranje bruin bier met een dun laagje schuim. Het heeft een hoppige geur. De smaak is hoppig, licht fruitig en bitter in de afdronk.

33cl bottle from Quali Drinks in Mechelen. F: medium, white, poor retention. C: deep gold, hazy with yeasty particles. A: malty, peach, floral, spicy touch, banana, bit apples. T: medium malty base, peach, floral, apples, banana, touch, weak bitterness, soft carbonation, obviously Saaz hop is not the best for this style, drinkable that’s all.

Bierfestival Brugge 2019. Clear golden orange, little head. Nose is cereal, unpleasant medicinal,, insect repellent, chemical. Fizzy chemical floral, medicinal, nasty. Fizzy. The beers brewed by themselves seem to be quite poor

Goudkleurig bier met mooie schuimkraag. Smaak is licht bitter en heel licht rokerig met iets van abrikoos en perzik. Fijn biertje met licht kruidige afdronk.
