It’s a remarkable beer is Monty Python’s Dead Parrot, fantastic plumage! At 4.1%, this amber ale will leave you pining for the fjords with fresh hop aromas of citrus fruits and a touch of pine squawking against a bed of sweet malt and rye. The hops and malt blend stunningly to leave a perfectly balanced beer with a fruity kick and a refreshingly bitter-sweet finish. Best served nailed to a perch with a side plate of uncooked, crunchy frogs!

Cask @ Percy Shaw, Halifax. Amber with a creamy head. Has a hoppy nose with a more mid-malty taste and an easy enough texture, but no fruity kick.

Cask-conditioned at the Commercial Rooms (JDW), Bristol 29 October 2021. Amber in colour with a slight, off-white, head. Leafy hops, some sweetish fruit character, chewy malts leading to a moderately bitter finish. Ok.

Cask at Moon under Water, Wolverhampton. Pours “bitter brown” with a small white head and good lacing. Aroma is just vaguely malty. In the mouth it has a creamy texture and flavour of floral hops on a caramel base. Varies between slightly sweet and slightly bitter. Pretty nondescript really.

Bottle. Aldi. Clear amber with a dense near white head that lasts well. Aroma of toasted spicy bread, orange peel, pine. Moderately sweet; a little chewy with less citrus than suggested by the aroma. And less bitterness too. When did this sort of thing start being called amber ale instead of bitter? It's OK but I wanted it to snap a bit more at the end.
