An IPA that maintains the classic bitterness and robustness of the style but with the addition of beautifully fruity American hops and all at an ABV that can be enjoyed all night (4.1% in cask and keg and 5.0% in bottle). Impressively strong and full-flavoured for its ABV, this is a piece of classic and bold Butcombe engineering!
Available permanently in keg and bottle and periodically in cask.

2016 catch up - A "British" IPA, but with more than a hint of flavour from the USA with some floral hops coming through. Overall a very nice beer.

Bottle. Amber/orange. Small creamy long lasting head. A fair bit of lacing. Aroma of citrus fruits and oranges. Taste is mostly fruity: oranges, tangerine and a hint of grapefruits. Some honey-like maltiness. Bitter and dry finish. Rather strong carbonation but very refreshing and easy drinking. The hoppiness is not as in-your-face as most modern american style IPAs but rather subtle and delicate. Really nice.

Bottle at home in Hackney - sourced from Ocado. Pours clear copper-gold with a modest, foamy white head. The aroma has lightly toasted malts, dry caramel, some ripening citrus. Light sweet flavour with notes of toasted grains, a little flinty minerality, moderate leafy bitterness. Light bodied with average carbonation. Finishes with light astringency, more leafy hops, toasted grains, a little husky bitterness, aged citrus rind. So so overall.

500ml bottle. Amber colour, white foam head leaving lacing and fruity malty aroma with a metallic note. Taste is bready malt caramel, sweetish, and citric earthy hop bitterness. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, dry tangy bitter finish. Quite drinkable.

500ml bottle. Clear amber colour with a good frothy white head. Hoppy aroma, citrus, malts. Flavour is quite hoppy and bittersweet, pleasant mouthfeel. Fairly nice IPA I thought.
