Near clear amber with a ring off white head. Aroma of herbs, overripe dark fruits, nettles.

Bottled, misty ruby body, off white head. Big malty aroma, oxidation, spicy, plum jam, slightly lean but sweetish. Very much not tripelish. Lean, dry taste, Iceland moss pastilles, herbal touches, caramel, some stone fruit, some pears, spices, heavy oxidation. Ah, shame I didn't get this more fresh. Still a good beer, but flaws became evident with age.

0.33 l bottle from Pomalo Beer Store, Zagreb. Shared with little Dina. Clear amber, small off-white head. Aroma is moderately spicy, cinnamon, anise, herbs, fruity element from both yeast and hops, red fruit or berries, ripe cherry, also earthy, leaves, mint, black pepper emerges. A bit harsh, spicy, phenolic, some sweetness, some alcohol. Thin, soft, light dry finish. Slightly bland. A bit messed up, not unpleasant, though.

750ml bottle from Beru Vykhodnoy in Moscow. Pours opaque brown with a medium-sized beige head. Aroma is cinnamon, aniseed, ginger. Taste is light to medium sweet, aforementioned spices. Weird tripel.

Bottled. Lightly hazy amber, mid sized head. Candi sugar, pineapple and marzipan up front. Sweet with medium to full body and rounded mouthfeel. Sweet and laid back, hay and marzipan. Spicy hops and bread. Mild spicy bitterness. Like the laidbackness.

Shared 750 ml white-waxed bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 8.0%. Orange to brownish amber colour, moderate head. Sweet and spicy / peppery aroma and flavour, notes of anise. Okay, but not really great.

Endelig er det nytt år og sesongstart på Mi2 Cardinal 14.01.19, og etter noen riktig gode fatøl og et omfattende flaske/boks-program er vi ved veis ende, men så tryller seremonimester Melberg frem et ekstranummer, en 0,75 flaske med voksforsegling som skaper store forventninger. Klar rødgylden med fint skum som varer. I den deilige maltkroppen finner jeg urter, overmodne appelsiner, anis og mild sherry. Forventningene fra den eksklusive forpakningen innfris ikke helt, dette blir litt for intetsigende.

Shared fancy wax bottle at Mi2 at Cardinal 14.01.19. Clear golden amber. White head and lacing. Strong arom and taste of cough medicine and star anise.
