Golden ale with a decent frothy head and a light but complex aroma. As well as the sort of grassy, citrus scents you would expect thereβs malty toffee in there too. The flavour has pretty much the same elements but balancing those two sides in the mouth is more of a challenge. Fortunately, especially given the citrus flavour is very tangy, Cromarty managed to find that balance so the sharp, sour taste is evened out with a sort of toasty sweetness.

0,5L bottle, BB 14.10.2014. Pours golden-amber with off white head. The head stays. Aroma is sweet, fruity and floral. Taste is sweet, buttery, slightly floral, mango, caramel, but also slightly watery. Overall: solid stuff.

Cask @ Friends of Ham, Leeds. Golden with a very thin head. Has a hop malt character but thereβs some fruits in the taste too. Tastes strong despite a low alcohol content.

Cask handpull at The Craft Clerkenwell. Clear gold lasting white head. Sone yeast some biscuit. Yes I like the digestive biscuit element. Nice enough. Could do with being a bit hoppier to balance the buscuit. Ok.

Dull amber with a sparkler head. Fruity, leafy hop aroma and taste, balanced w mellow pale malts. Refreshing.

Clear pale amber color, decent white head, lace. Earthy and tropical fruity hoppyness in the nose. Light bodied. Sweetish fruityness, citrus, hints of tea, dry finish. Quite weak palate. British golden ale with light new world twist.

Growler. Gold with a white head. Aroma of gooseberries, grapefruit, mandarins, grass. Light bodied. Quite tightly wound citrus and tropical flavours - not much sweetness, or at least the bitterness and dry finish kick in early.

Bottled. Cloudy golden, rich head. Aroma of tangerines with notes of ginger. Mid dry with medium body and rounded mouthfeel. Yuzu and kumquat. Long bitter finish. Nice!

Cask, Blackfriars, Inverness. Golden looks with a smallish white head. Grassy hop and citrus notes in the nose, with the flavour following suit. Decent dry bitter finish. Very drinkable indeed and ideal session fodder.
