Pours clear blonde. Scent is typical De Ranke hops, green and prominent.I did hope for more fresh lageryeast aroma's. Taste is malty, sharp hops and bitterness. Very lingering. bit thin bodied, lovely bitter punch though - yet not much more beyond that.

Flaska från Etre. Disig varmt gyllengul vätska med högt stabilt skum. Doft och smak av gräs och örter. Krispig men mjuk krämig munkänsla. Mycket gott

0.75l bottle, huge thanks Nino and Casey for sharing it with us! So, Simplex brewed with lager yeast and then bottle-conditioned. It's cool to see brewers of De Ranke's profile playing around like that! It was a hazy golden beer, distinctly flowery in the aroma, albeit with a vague phenolic touch. Simple, pleasant taste - flowery notes, vague citric touches on a mellow body, nicely soft and fluffy, finishing bitterish and with a light phenolic touch. Apart from the mild phenolic kick, this is excellent! Guess it was a side-effect of a need to re-ferment, but there you go, still a beer I enjoyed and didn't feel too much out of place even in Plzeň.

Draft @ Dynamo.
