500 ml. bottle; bb 22 Apr 07; Neck band states it’s from The Ram Brewery; an heirloom. Aroma of caramel malts with accompanying light citrus. Unclear amber color with a white head that struggles to live. Medium bodied with mild carbonation. Light caramel sweetness with some citrus and tangy spice. The English probably consider this bitter, but it’s more like an American amber. Perhaps a bit more bitter in the finish than an amber, and there is some light spice to further distinguish it. Pretty dry finish, with some lingering spicey & malt notes along with bitter. It’s nice. Given the name I’d like to give higher praise. But it’s only really good.

bottle - Pours hazy copper with a medium sized head and a little lacing. It has a light hop aroma. The flavor is a nice caramel malt and hops balance. Medium bodied and easy to drink, I enjoyed this one.

Bottle; Nose of light fruit, malt, and some citrusy hops; copper color with a light beige head; taste of caramel, touch of molasses, and a little hop bitterness; finish ending up a little sweet caramel.

Biggish shiny creamy offwhite head. Hazy dark orange body. Light, acidic aroma. Taste is acidic lemony hops with a soft body and notes of honey. Dryish aftertaste. Good. It’s really the hops that make this one. (0.5l bottle.)

Bottle: Light amber coloured, huge fluffy head; spicy hoppy, malty-caramelly nose with a light tart fruitiness; moderate bitter flavour, medium bodied; bitter-fruity finish with an odd touch of vegetables (?!). Average english Bitter..........

500 ml bottle, "Best Before 1 Feb 07." Retired? I’d best get the imports while they’re still here. This one gushered when I popped it, but not too much. Poured a rich copper color with little head. My nose is too stuffy to catch the smell, just light beeriness. Taste is nicely malted, a touch of ale fruitiness and hops only there for a bit of sharpness. Notes of vanilla give it a kind of cream soda texture. Slightly medicinal, but this may be an "off" bottle. Not spectacular, but it’s just fun to drink.

Bottle: pours a billiant copper colour with a caramel head which falls back quickly into elegant lacing;the nose doesn’t give much away, just a touch of yeast and malt, but it explodes in the mouth with a combination of richly roasted malt and honey, with a clean aftertaste.
