BrewDog join forces with Mikkeller for another chapter in the New England IPA saga. Urban Fog takes the form of a juicy and tropical pineapple-forward 6.5% hazy IPA with notes of bright berry, sharp citrus and resin.

Can from Sainsbury’s. Hazy golden body with an off-white head. Low carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of tinned peach and dried grass. Flavour of cigarette and crystallised orange. Medium body with a smooth texture. Soft fizz. It’s fine but a touch too sweet for my taste.

Can from Sainsbury's Supermarket, Blackley. Fully hazed amber-orange with a small head. Tropical-fruity with a sugary-sweetness, probably the passion-fruit, not too bitter. Has a good juiciness about it. Its strength gives this brew plenty of depth.

Can purchased at BD online. It pours cloudy deep orange with a decent frothy off-white head. The aroma is sweet, juicy, tropical, big passion fruit character, mango, papaya, dull floral accents, pine, green vibes, nip of spice and brioche. The taste is firmly dry up front, green sting, piney, grassy, pithy, floury bread, spicy kick, tropical fruits but more mellow than the aroma, passion fruit, mango, papaya, apricot and a touch of alcohol. Medium body and moderate carbonation. The taste doesn't quite live up to the bright aroma, perhaps its a bit more muddle. Decent stuff anyhow.

440ml can from Sainsbury's. Hazy yellow appearance, large white head. Aroma brings tropical hop fruit. Taste continues, comfortingly smooth on the palate with a nice juicy character, some gentle stonefruit, moderately sweet, soft bitter close. Nicely presented haze overall.

Cloudy golden beer, white head fizzes away quickly. Bittersweet aroma.of tropical fruit and hops. Flavour has passion fruit, orange, a bit of grassy hop and a touch of grapefruit. Sharp and fresh with a lasting bittersweet finish.

440ml can - Pours a hazy orange colour with a small frothy white head. Aroma is sweet malts and fruity, tropical fruit and sweet oranges. A light fruity sweet and bitter taste, pale malts, tropical fruit, pineapple, mango, orange and light pine flavours with a light drying hoppy bitterness.

Can at home in Hackney - picked up from Sainsbury’s in Dalston. Pours lightly hazed orange-gold with a foamy, white head. Moderate sweet, some juicy tropical fruits, a light citric note, understated pale malts, low bitterness, a little white grape, peach. Medium to full bodied with fine to average carbonation. Alright balance to finish, light warmth, more peach and tropical notes. Not bad overall.
