Can. A light haze on this deep amber - brown beer, small bubbly tan head. Palate is light and semi dry with decent fine minerally carbonation. Slightly thin malts for ba quad but with decent caramel and cream malts with a pleasing touch of darker toffee. Very light touch of esters, blink and you'll miss it. Smooth but pretty light cognac from the barrelling, touch of vanilla oak. Finishes light and crisp. Nice ba quad, a more luxurious palate would have taken this to the next level.

I located a Dutch seller with a nice inventory of quadrupels. This 33 cl can was one I acquired and I'm now ready to try it. In front of me is a snifter from an Austin brewery visited some years back that is ready to catch the pour. A mahogany brown body with a fair head of silver-tan foam. I lift the glass for a smell, quite boozy initially with malt and dark fruit close behind. And the drink is not the usual quad taste and that is not a bad thing. Figs, syrup, dark bread, alcohol, malt, something medicinal, caramel and dark raisins. Sweet and bitter with more of the former. Not a favorite but a Belgian ale I appreciate.

Donkerbruin bier zonder schuim. Heel fijn.

Can. Color: Dark ruby, very thin beige head. Aroma: Cognac, dark dried fruit. Taste: Malty, quite strong Cognac, dried white grape, some dark dried fruit, subtle caramel. Full body, below average carbonation. Cognac is a bit overwhelming but that's ok for me. Light bitterness, moderate sweetness. Bit boozy. Very nice.

Very dark brown with thin head. The boozy wooden barrel is prominent in both aroma and flavour. Sweet dried fruits, warming cognac and sherry notes. A little bit more body and a little less carbonation would take this to a very high level.
