From a 330ml bottle on 3/8/2022. Pours the deepest of amber with a a medium stout - could easily be confused for a stout. Has a malty nose of toffee and brown sugar with stewed fruit, with light whiffs of bourbon. Tastes complex and intense - prunes and raisins, with some light vinous notes, more toffee and brown sugar, a touch of smoke, just a hint of warming bourbon and a satisfying bitter finish with a very mild sourness to it. The mouthfeel is slick, the carbonation softish. A cracking beer from Nøgne!

St. Hans-aften, og det er på tide å sprette en butlje som setter meg i den kontemplative stemning. 0,33 fra VP nett eller Kvaddå (litt usikker her) - brunsvart med ok skum. Edel og forlokkende aroma og tilsvarende smak med svisker/sviskeplommer og rosiner/korinter, vanilje, whiskymarinerede kirsebær, dessertchokolader fylt til randen af årgangsmadeira, hint af gammeldags grundsmøring for treski. Vinøs mundfølelse og de 50 IBU sørger for den nødvendige balanse mot de søde lækkerier. Mersmagen kan blive kostbar.

Bottle. Pitch black body under a fine, creamy beige head that fades quite fast. Strong and nice aroma of dark malt, dry fruit, some oak and sweet whisky/alcohol. Taste is sweet, dark malt, incredible smooth, dry fruit, dark chocolate, dark berries, sweet cherry, candy sugar, moderate whisky sting and strong, but soft and nice, warming alcohol. Decent bitterness. Fine body and everlasting aftertaste. Another brilliant desert beer from Nøgne, super smooth and really tasty. The kind of beer that just make me want another right away.

330 ml bottle, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken, shared with my son. ABV is 12%, IBU 50. Very dark brown to black colour, moderate beige head. Aroma of whiskey, molasses, fusel alcohols, oak, smoke and vanilla. Very sweet (too sweet) flavour, loads of molasses, and otherwise the same elements as the aroma, fairly distinct bittering hops in the finish. Kind of impressive, but I won't be Charley Noble's biggest fan.

Really dark brown with thin head. Aroma and flavour have sweet malts and whisky. Booze soaked dates and raisins. Sweet but not cloying. Excellent.

9-4-8-4-16 Bottle, #11213, bottle 0246/7000, nine months after bottling. Pours black, with a big creamy mocha head. Aroma is roasted malts with dark bread, chocolate, muscovado sugar and dark fruits, as well as smoked whiskey, tannins and wooden barrels. Full, smooth roasted malts with bread, chocolate body, with soft carbonation. Flavour is roasted malts with chocolate, muscovado and liquorice, as well as tobacco, tannins and whiskey barrels. Mellow and balanced.

Mørkebrun nesten sort med beige skum som daler sakte og legger seg som ett slør. Aroma malt rosin plomme whisky sukker. Smak malt karamell sukker plomme whisky. Kraftig, smaksrik, god sødme, fatpreg. Alkohol godt pakket inn, godt øl. Flaske kjøpt på Vinmo

Hazy brown colour, beige foam. Nose of raisins, dried plums, smoke, honey, a bit woody, light roasty. Very well balanced. Great barley wine.
