Cask at The Railway Inn, Winchester. 16/12/16. Vague hay/loft aroma. Light amber. Decent, if frothy, head. A tad bitter, develops in strength but never gets going. Not quite what I expected. Light bodied, with a soft finish. Hides its strength but bland as.

(Bottle, 0.5 l, at Silja Symphony, 20161023) The beer poured deep amber and clear. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had toffee and earth. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were toffee, grass, earth, malts and bitterness. Aftertaste was malty, hoppy and bitter. A nice hoppy bitter.

Bottle shared with JMD at HNB 18.04.16. Clear orange. Off-white head and lacing. Wonderful aroma of Sevilla marmalade, yellow apples, white grapes dandelions and pale malt. Similar taste, but with pronounced pale malt and bitterness. Sublime aftertaste and excellent drinkability!

33 cl bottle, just slightly fresh, almost tepid. Pours golden with copperish notes. White head is minimal, rapidly vanishing. Aroma is low: anise, grass, pie, cookie dough. Low carb. Good acidity, nice softness, quite bitter long finish. I like it.

Bottle from Tesco, Brighouse. Golden with a thinnish head. Lightly hopped but never too flavoursome, nor does its strength impact too much. Has a dryish texture, some bitterness with its pale ale character most evident in its aftertaste.

500ml bottle. Clear golden colour with a small frothy white head. Aroma is lightly sweet, malts and some hops. Taste is hoppy, lightly bitter citric grapefruit finish, light malty flavours. Nothing stands out with this one.
