A golden, straw coloured bitter, brewed with Cascade hops adding a flinty, grapefruit aroma that is deliciously refreshing.

Had this again but on cask at Black Isle bar, Inverness Saturday 30th March 2024. Very nice beer. Bottle passed on by Craig aka cgarvieuk, earlier on in the year, cheers Craig. This was consumed in a field at Towersey Festival over the w/e of 20th-25th August 08 Pours hazy yellow tastes quite sharp some citrus but also quite a lot of vinegar which started to dominate after a while and which I also think shouldn’t have been there wonder whether this has been infected? I also noticed that this is now out of date BBE 03-08. I will try this again at some point.2.1

Cask@GBBF2008. Golden colour, small beige head. Aroma is toffee, fruits and wood. Flavour is flowery hops, some fruits and mild notes of grass. Quite pleasant, even though nothing very special.

500 ml bottle, at The 78, Glasgow. My notes say "Black Isle Organic Yellowhammer IPA, ABV 4.5%" - but I might have been "under the influence" ... Deep golden colour, large and lasting head. Unusual fruity aroma, very complex. The mouthfeel is maybe a bit thin - I drank it too cold though. Reasonably fruity and hoppy flavour, but not very exciting.

Shared a bottle with Finn and Catweazle. Out of date (bb.Sept.05), but still good to drink. Bright yellow. A bit cloudy. White foam. Fresh and fruity to the nose. Light body. Notes of grapefruit in a light bitter flavour. Dry ending.

Golden ale with no head. Nice malty aroma with British hops, a bit peppery. Biscuity malt with decent hopping and nice lingering bitterness. Medium bodied and classic. Goes well with Bleu. Brought back by Mike from Scotland. Nov. 2005, Mike’s place.

[Cask at GBBF 2005] A yellow beer with a white head. The aroma is spicy combined with elderberry flowers, but also hints of butter. The flavor is sweet again with elderberry flowers and butter, over a thin body.

500ml bottle from Real Ale shop. Golden with thick lasting white head. Really nice hop nose reminiscent of some US beers like Rogue. However, mouth is more subtle with a citric hop finish. Good beer. Bit of golden syrup in the mouth. Hop aroma is a real winner though.
