A slightly hazy dark amber beer with a beige head. Aroma of red malt, caramel, piney hops. Taste of spruce, caramel, raisins, long bitter finish.

Tap at Higgins. Dark red, strong white head. Pines and a walk through winter woods (just started to snow). Soft, nice fluffy bitterness, caramel melathingens.

Malzig-hopfiger Beginn, kernig, würzig, deutlich ansteigende Bitterkeit. Malz und Hopfen sind auf gleichem Level, intensiv, dennoch harmonisch, zum Black IPA fehlen nur noch Röstnoten. Langer würziger Nachhall, intensiv. 10/11/11/12/8/11

0.3 l tap. Murky red brown with a creamy head. Rye, grapefruit, resin, pine, caramel, some tobacco, pumpernickel, herbal hops. Hoppy bitterness, grainy malty sweetness. Full bodied, oily texture, soft carbonated, hoppy bittersweet finish. Great stuff!

Flascherl (Danke, Garching!): Cloudy, amber coloured with a reddish sheen, medium-sized creamy and stable off-white head , moderate to solid earthy and fruity-hoppy nose, sweet (toasted?) malt well detectable underneath; robust dryish bitter and mildly sweet flavour, medium bodied; lingering fruity-hoppy and bready-toasty finish. Yes...

Bottle. Quite red amber, offwhite cream. Nice juicy malt and lovely floral and citric hop aroma. Medium body, mellow dry spicy on the plate. A bit melanoidin, layered with a large amount of sparkly, perfumed, flowery and piney hops. Leaves with a bit of citrus bitterness. Really a nice flavor combination.

Bottle courtesy of Munich Dave, cheers Dave *btw that's what I call you!, consumed at home Saturday 27th March 2021 we have Prawn Taquitos with Spicy Avocado Salsa and Smokey Stuffed Peppers listening to a couple of tracks off of the new forthcoming Squid album - Bright Green Field. Pours reddy amber with an off white head. Nice soft carbonation, malty throughout, pleasant steady bitterness, a little sweet caramel with a little citrus lift. Nice.

Bottle from the brewery. Dark red amber, moderate head, nose is light caramel with mild citrusy piney goodness. Flavor is tasty, the many hops really meld together for a rounded fruity, piney, slightly dank blend. Caramel notes give big body, lasting but smooth bitterness, quite nice. This doesn't have the astringent too much red X flavor I get from most beers with red in the name, bravo!
