A Stout made with Cà Phê Chồn – one of the world’s rarest coffees, imported from Vietnam. Coffee beans are collected, cleaned and roasted after going through the digestive tract of the luwak, a type of civet with very particular tastes. Roasted malt links coffee, citrus and dark chocolate to form a potent brew leading to a hoppy, happy, bitter citrus finish.

Can from Speciaalbierpakket. Aroma is roasted malt, caramel, dark chocolate, chocolate syrup, espresso, soft vanilla, molasses, and some liquorice. Flavour is quite sweet with some roasty bitterness in the finish. Body is full. Rather sweet and syrupy, doesn't hold a candle to regular Mikkeller Brunch Weasel. Very much a slow sipping sugar overdose, decent but not a great Imperial Stout.

Old 355mL can, undated, circa 2021 most likely. Drunk 2/2/24. Clear, dark. Small tan ring of persistent bubbles. Alcohol and oxidation with syrupy caramel and dark roasted coffee. Hint of vanilla. Flaked oat seems to maybe soften things a bit. Wow sugar. Just a mouthful of brown sugar, vanilla, honey, caramel and dark roast coffee. Some bitterness from alcohol on the finish (and coffee of course). Even at 11% and the coffee being in relatively good shape, this one still seems old and tired. That said, this must have been an onslaught of sugar, booze and coffee when young.

Draft. A- Chocolate sauce. A- Black color, black liquid, brown head. T- Tobacco, char, roasty, chocolate. P- Full body, thick texture, average carbonation, roasty finish. O- I really get no coffee here and not sure how the SD brewery recipe is different. Loads of roasted tobacco and a bit of lucious chocolate sauce.

Bottle shared at Chris and Ruth Pre-GBBF 2017 tasting - London. Cheers! Pours oily black-brown with a creamy, khaki head. The nose holds burnt biscuits, chocolate. Medium to big sweet flavour with notes of hearty roasted malts, sugary chocolate, scorched earth. Full bodied, oily, with fine carbonation. Warming finish, some ashy roast, bittersweet chocolate, raisins, fudge. Good stuff.

16oz can from Tavour. Pours out a thick black, flat. Aroma features a blend of roast, coffee and chocolate. Taste moves the chocolate up front, with sweetness and roasty bitterness behind. Smooth. Thick. Nice!
