11 September 2021. At Summer Belgian Beer Geek Gathering. Many thanks, Klaas & Liesbeth, cheers to the whole crew!
Clear dark brown, thin tan head. Aroma of lots of green apple (acetaldehyde), fig, cashew, caramel, peanut, candied plum. Taste has sweet green apple, plum & banana over nutty, caramelly maltiness with a spicy edge. Herbal hoppy finish, candied fruit & warming rum-like alcohol. Medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation. Enjoyable but way too young for me as I am sensitive to acetaldehyde.

Bottle. Color: Dark reddish brown, very thin beige head. Aroma: Dark fruit, boozy, rye, spicy notes, Whiskey, dark malt, some vanilla and some caramel, bit sugary, notes of almond. Very well balanced. Very nice. Lightly sticky. Full body, low carbonation. Over moderate sweet, moderate bitterness, going to over moderate at finish.

Bottle @ Belgian Summer Gathering Sept' 21, Evergem. BB 04/2025, batch# 2033.

11/IX/21 - 75cl bottle from Bierhalle Deconinck (Vichte), shared @ BBGG Summer Edition (Klaas & Liesbeth's place), BB: IV/2025, batch 2033 (2021-1027)
Clear dark red brown beer, small creamy beige brown head, little stable, non adhesive. Aroma: malty, alcohol, caramel, spicy, yeast. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: bitter, bit malty, soapy, lots of tannins, alcohol, a little roasted. Weird… Aftertaste: sweet touch, lots of alcohol, sugary, caramel, bitter, hoppy, dry finish, very bitter. Was actually expecting (way) more of this one.

Bottle, huge thanks Papsoe! Shared with Fil, Chris B, assorted Raven people et al. :D Murky brown going chestnut and reddish body, small off white head. Pungent aroma, raisins and rye predominantly, sweetish, pleasant, generally very much nice! Sweet taste, lean raisins, dried peach, smooth whiskey notes, caramel, just light old barrel and alcohol touches bring it down a tad for me, but this is undoubtedly an excellent beastie!

Bottle, 0.75l, shared with Patrick. Aroma of toasted malt, whiskey, wood, and dried fruit. Pours clear dark brown color with thin quickly diminishing tan-like head and average sparkling appearance. Taste starts with sweet caramel and dried fruity acidity, follows by wood, vanilla, whiskey, nuts and some herbs, mouthfeel is warm and spicy, while finish is mild bitter. Full body, syrupy texture and average carbonation in palate. Soul robber...

0,75l bottle from Alko. Batch 2033. BBE 04/2025. Very thick wax, took some time to open. Brown beer, which turns into ruby red in better light. Medium beige head is stable and cloudy. Aroma has oak, raisins, plum, vanilla, toffee, rye and some berries. Delicious and comprehensive. Flavor has oak, malts, dark fruits, rye and even mämmi, peanuts and hints of coffee & spices. Full body, low carbonation. Oily, soft, sweet. Alcohol is hiding well. Surprisingly easy to drink. Wonderful beer, one of the all time greatest!
