Draft at Pigs Ear. Dark amber with a soft silky head. Big boozy aroma, taste follows with huge malts, leather, tobacco and tons of alcohol warmth.

Cask at The Rake. Sweet port and stewed fruits aroma. Dark Amber. The off-white head is pretty much just a memory. Sweet but surprisingly restrained for the ABV. Stewed fruit (again), raisins, a hint of spice. Thick bodied. Vaguely chalky, especially in the finish. Enjoyable. A sipping beer.

Süßer, mild alkoholischer Antrunk. Weich, süffig, angenehm würzig. Frisch, erstaunlich spritzig. Zunehmend malzig, geringe Karbonisierung. Erdige Noten zum Ende. Gut. 8/11/11/11/9/11

Bottle (2010) shared with Niller, sourced from Toft Vin, Copenhagen - dark brown pour with off white head. Sweet malty aroma and taste, caramel, treacle, some burnt brown sugar, dark dried fruit, carbonation is virtually flat which is strange, very warming boozy, interesting brew, nice but thinking would of been better a little younger.

Bottle from Metro Wines, Leicester. 2010 Vintage. Deep Ruby brown colour with no head. Sweet spicy cake aroma and a slightly sweet taste. Body has warming alcohol. But not suprusing with the high alcohol content.

Clear red brown colour, dissipating white head. Malty aroma, madeira, raisins. Quite alcoholic flavour, sweet malts, raisins. Finish raisins and sweet sherry. Feels indeed old, but held up quite nicely.

2010 vintage. 250mL bottle, courtesy of fiulijn (thanks a lot, Alex), pours a murky dark rusted mahogany - no head. Nose brings out rich dark fruits, sherry oxidation, brown sugar and some alcohol. Flavour is rich and complex, with dark dried fruits, caramel, liqueur, and just a touch of booze. The alcohol is really well-worked in for being this high. Zero carbonation - totally flat, but it works. Smooth palate. Luxurious.

Bottle, vintage 2010 enjoyed January 2015. Pours deep dark brown, with an ever so slight reddish hue, and as good as no head. Aroma is sweet and intense, with dark malts and toffee, and loaded with dark fruity esters and notes of madeira. Medium to light body, with a touch of carbonation. Flavour is sweet roasted malts, with raisins, prunes and figs, as well as cocoa, tobacco, nuts and oak barrels.
