Dark, intense and full-flavoured, it is our tribute to the Vikings and their cultural legacy in Orkney. The first thing to touch the islands would have been their long ship's Dragonhead.
Dragonhead is brimming over with rich roast malt and roast barley flavours. Aromas of bitter chocolate, roast coffee and spicy dark fruits are complemented by a complex, bitter blend of hop varieties.
Hops: Challenger, East Kent Goldings
Malts: Pale, Crystal, Chocolate, Malted Wheat, Black, Roasted Barley

Pours pitch black with a dark brown quickly fading head.Nose shows lots of coffee, a bit of liquorice and craploads of roasted malt. Too much coffee character!Flavours include plenty of roasted malt, lots of ground coffee, in fact pretty much nothing else is noticeable, just a hint of faint sweet malt. Ends abruptly.Body is very watery.

Almost black beer with a beautiful, brown head. Aroma is roasted, lots of milk chocolate and some milky sourness. Nicely smooth to drink, but thin and short palate. Taste is simplier than aroma, actually only roastiness, also some coffee and bitterness in the end. Nice aroma, but taste is not so good; I think this was the first and the last Dragonhead for me.

500 ml bottle. Pitch black body with a big, creamy tan head that lasts - what more can anyone expect? Pleasant aroma of good roasted malt, coffee, chocolate and dry fruit. Flavor is nice and dry roasted malt, coffee, chocolate, dry fruit and relatively bitter. Medium to light body, but thatβs only fair to 4% ABV. Harmonic with a long and pleasant roasted/bitter aftertaste. A very fine stout.

Cask. Pours an opaque black with a small, rough off-white head. Tart, burned malt in the nose - a little peat as well. Light body, flat, hard roasted malt, some ashes and licorice, tar and peat with a lightly burned finish. Lots of flavours for such a small beer. 220110

50cl Bottle on the bus at RBESG Rome Day 2. Black colour, beige head. Aroma of hard roasted malts, green apples, chocolate, bit of cream. Flavour is same with a hard roasted and chocolate finish. Light to medium bodied. Disappointing.
