Medium beige head. Clear deep amber body with carbonation. Perfumy caramelly malt aroma with spicy cocos and toffee notes. Sweet, and faintly dry, perfumy caramelly taste with smoke and spice notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, smooth mouthfeel, slightly slick. Dryish roasty caramel aftertaste with dandelion notes. It’s OK, but nothing special. (0.5l bottle, Alko Arkadia, Helsinki.)

Aroma has sweet malt with some caramel and toffee. Flavour is sweet with caramel, toffee, some nuts and hints of berries. A decent English Strong that could be a Scotch Ale as well.

Flaske 0,5l fra Alko Muonio. Drukket hjemme 30 Mai 11. Gylden mørkebrun med et pent skum som fester seg til glasset. God fruktig aroma. Litt bær. Oljeaktig tungefølelse. Rik fruktig smak med undertone av malt. Syrlig, litt tung ettersmak med innslag av mandler. Innholdsrikt & godt øl. Pen etikett!

Cask at the GBBF. Copper with a small off-white head. Fruity aroma with apple, pear and dried prunes. Sweet malty and fruity flavour with a touch of almonds and notable alcohol.

50cl bottle. Pours a dark amber with a nice head. The nose has ginger biscuits and a little cream. The taste has a buttery-creaminess with more of the ginger biscuits going on, then the buttery-toffee-creaminess comes back. The palate has a medium to big structure, then the middle section has a medium to large texture and the finish is fairly clean on the end - not bad. Overall, it’s not bad, but a bit sickly in some ways.

A hazed murky brown ale with a very thin off white head. In aroma, sweet caramel malt with dark fruits, licorice, alcohol warmth, very nice and smooth. In mouth, a nice sweet caramel malt with dark fruits, licorice, alcohol warmth, molasses, very nice for a 9 years old ale.

Bottle from Alko in Pello. Reddish brown with a large lasting head. A lot of malt in this one, also caramel, some light hops and bread. On the sweet side. Quite good.

GBBF Cask. Clear amber beer. Residual off white head. Nail varnish on the nose! Light dry palate. Sweet dried fruits. Estery banana underneath. Mild alcohol heat. It’s not bad but lacks a bit of cohesion.

Cask at GBBF 2011. It pours clear moderate brown, with a very thin, bubbly head. The nose is leather, beef jerky, HP sauce, and nail varnish remover. The taste is sweet caramel, nut, polis, astringency, cherry, leather and old tires, with a warming, bitter-dry finish. Full body and low carbonation. Decent.
