Mit Köstritzer Witbier führen wir eine Spezialität nach belgischem Vorbild ein: Witbier – das klassische belgische Weizenbier. Im Unterschied zum herkömmlichen Weizenbier tritt es hell und auch fein trüb in Erscheinung. Der Geschmack definiert sich über spritzigen Antrunk, einen dezent säuerlichen Klang und die prägende Weizennote. Veredelt wird der Sud mit getrockneten Orangenschalen und Koriander, welche dem Witbier seine fruchtig-würzige Note verleihen. Diese außergewöhnlichen Komponenten sorgen dafür, dass der zitrusartige Charakter stärker in den Vordergrund rückt.

Bottle 500ml. @ Café Abseits. [ As Köstritzer Meisterwerke Witbier ].Unclear - hazy medium golden yellow color with a average to large, creamy, good lacing, mostly lasting, white to off-white head. Aroma is light to moderate malty, wheat, moderate yeasty, spicy, yeast, coriander. Flavour is moderate to light light heavy sweet with a long duration, spicy, coriander, orange - citrus. Body is medium, texture is creamy, carbonation is soft. [20140508]

Cloudy pale golden color with a lovely fine white head that leaves a fine lacing down the glass. Herbal/coriander, some yeast and mild fruity aroma. Medium body. Mellow sweetness and a moderate bitterness. Average to soft carbonation. Some wheat, mild herbal (coriander), some yeast, a bit citric and mild fruity. Fresh and easy drinkable wit.

Bottle. Milky yellow, lowish head, unfortunate floats. Lemon and bergamotte aroma, citric hops, orange peel, light green apples. Lightbodied, foamy mouthfeel. Fresh, a little bit too ephemeral, but a good quencher overall.

Im Geruch Litschi, frisch. Geschmacklich fehlt leider die versprochene Fruchtnote, Koriander überlagert, bitter, erst im langen Abgang Orange. Wenn Fernsehbiere Craftbiere machen - schade, von allem etwas mehr wäre schön gewesen. Köstritzer geht hier leider zu vorsichtig auf den Markt. Trotzdem besser als ihr Schwarzbier.

0,5 l bottle (best before 6/3/2015), poured into an Aventinus glass. Appearance is that of a typical witbier: hazy, pale yellow with a thick, frothy, white head. Pleasant, citrussy aroma of lemon, banana and wheat. Sweetish taste of banana, lemon, wheat and yeast. Medium body, smooth and creamy mouthfeel, average carbonation, slightly watery in the end. Crisp, slightly zesty finish. Really decent beer, didn’t expect it to be that interesting. Can definitely keep up with the originals.

Bottle thanks to Cuso. Aroma is coriander and flowery. Hazy yellow colour. Taste is lemony, coriander. Initially sweet, then balanced with spices in finish. Refreshing, nicely drinkable. Good one. I like it.
