Bottle split at Islo, thanks to Daniel, 21/04/16. Black with a decent tan covering. Nose is rich roast, spice, toffee fudge, earthy roast, dark fruit vibes. Taste comprises sweet malt, fruit cake, booze jus, chocolate fudge, light spice. Full bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close ... decent boost jus.

Bottle shared in London - many thanks to Daniel. Pours deep black-brown with a frothy, tan head. Nice ashy roast in the nose, burnt sugars, toffee, dark fruits, smoke. Big sweet flavour with charred ham, gooey chocolate, raisins, some scorched earth. Full bodied, gooey and chewy, with fine carboantion. Lightly warming on the finish, with more sugary chocolate, toffee, ripe dark berries. Tasty stuff.

Bottle from Capitol Beer in Sacramento, CA. Pours very dark brown with a slight, transient dark tan head. Aroma of vanilla, darkish fruit, and chocolately malt. Near full bodied. Flavor is very dark treacle, something like anise/chocolate, darkish fruits, some vanilla. Almost suggesting creosote! Lots of flavor in this, and there’s some persistent hint of brown sugar. Really tasty stuff.

Bottle, thanks for sharing! Pours lack with a dark brown head that dissipates quickly to the edges. Aroma is full of earthy dark grains, dark fruit and roasted malts with a bit of vanilla underlying. Flavor does a better job combining bitter dark grains, roasted malts and vanilla with a hint of bitter chocolate.

Black color. Thick and heavy, not much of a palate. Lots of roasted grain flavor. Some sugar and toasted bread.

Bottle at PP with Catan. Flat thick black pour with tan head. Aroma is huge coffee, caramel, some soy, in a nice way actually, and dark fruit. Taste follows - big chocolatey coffee bitter bite with some savoriness and then a very warm booziness that lasts. Very nicely balanced - like this way more than I thought I would given all the savoriness. Really good.

Bottle. Almost black reddish brown with a tan head that’s soon less than a coat. Fudgy aroma with chocolate, figs, raisins, dates, sweet red wine. Viscous with moderate carbonation: Oily, getting towards clingy. Sweet mocha, dried and some stewed fruit, pasture, Indian sweet meats and unfamiliar spices, heavily oaked red wine. No overt alcohol, but you wouldn’t be surprised by 11%. Bitterness creeps up after a while after working its way through the layers of sweetness, but it never dries out much. Complex and interesting with some feral undertones, but I would have liked something at the end to lighten the load a bit.
