0.33 l bottle thanks to Marko, shared with Ogi and him. Unclear golden to amber, small off-white head. Aroma is fruity, dried fruit, dried apricot, ripe fruit, a hint of coconut, an hint of wood. Malts underneath. A touch of tangerine and ripe apple. Alcohol hidden. Smooth, medium body, coconut, sweet, vanilla, hint of wood, hint of dried fruit. A touch of banana. Alcohol still hidden. Soft carbonation, some warmth in the finish. A bit sweet.

0.33l bottle from Brauliebe Hirz, shared almost two months later with Hrabren and Ogi in Zagreb. Bit dull golden body, fleeting white head. Sugaty honeyish vanilla-coconut barrel notes, light caramelly maltiness, low esters. Hoooh. Light taste, elegant, a little bit of classic Hirz esters, peachy somewhat, and a solid oaky-rummish smooth coconut-vanilla profile, borderline creamy, but not going into stale. Well hidden 8.5% alcohol too. Good little experiment.

Bottle picked up from REWE Waldkirchen and consumed at home Thursday 22nd February 2024 listening to Tom Ravenscroft and Deb Grant on New Music Fix on 6Music, we had Gnocchi with Feta, Basil and Cherry Tomatoes. I know that Rum is my least favourite barrel aged beer but.... I'm not convinced that along with the barrel ageing there isn't a little bit of infection here. Tart, and tangy, busy carbonation soon calms. Easy drinking for an 8.5% beer, a little bit dry at the end, a touch funky. Yeah not my thing.

Bottle from the Elsfleth Hol-Ab. Deep amber with a fleeting, foamy head. Aroma is mostly that of rum. Mild oak and vanilla undertones. Taste is mildly sweet with a touch of vanilla at the end. The experience is largely ruined though by the excessive carbonation. Letting it have a long sit in the glass helps. Promising but needs fixing.

0,33 l bottle from my local Hol´Ab! market around the corner. Listed with 8.5 abv. Unclear dark golden, two finger head, surprisingly lively carbonation. Woody rum smell, little bit perfumed. Taste starts with a medical herb sweetness, some wet wood, caramel. Rum in the middle part. Okay.

Bottle. Color: Slightly hazy orange amber, off-white head. Aroma: Sweetish, subtle caramel, spicy and Rum. Taste: Smooth, malty, over moderate sweet, slightly sour and spicy, very subtle Rum. A little more Rum at the finish but still quite subtle. Very light bitterness. Bit watery, below medium body. Just below average carbonation. Not much going on. Mwah.

Starkbier mit 7,0 % Alk. Stammwürze unbekannt. Unpraktische 0,33 l Flasche.

Flascherl: Hazy to cloudy, amber coloured, small and stable off-white creamy head; distinctive sweet nose of brown sugar, wood 'n wanilla with a boozy touch, "beery" qualities like wheat or grains and yeast in the background; moderate sweet-bitter flavour, almost medium bodied, but all in all quite weak for a beer of 7.0%, not smooth; lingering sweet-bitter flavour with illusions of a decent rum and a big boozy touch in the aftertaste. Who needs this...
