Bottle that we, me, Loz and Marko picked up yesterday from the brewery. Had this Saturday 14th February 2026 at the Manglham 2nd Winter Tasting listening to Maserati - Rehumanizer. Pours hazy gold with a white head. Good barrel ageing, soft, good carbonation, a little vanilla, not doing too much for me, it's fine..Score 6.8

0.33l bottle for Brauliebe Hirz, shared at Mangled Ham 2026. Lighlty hazy golden body, fleeting head. Cloves and light vanilla and coconut notes in the aroma, the barrel being subtle, but not invisible, some peachy esters too. Lean, dryish peach, plum and coconut vanilla barrel taste, light herbal notes by the finish. The balance between the base and the barrel is actually quite good, the notes mixing well. Props! Not sure what I expected, but this was a pleasant surprise.

Bottle. Hazy deep golden, offwhite head. Light minerals, dusty dry barrel, light fruit base, good chewy fizz, metal, peach finish. Pleasant surprise.

Bottle from the Elsfleth Hol-ab. Amber with a frothy, white head that lingers for the duration. Aroma is mostly barrel with grainy undertones. Taste is bittersweet, trending sour at the end. Medium bodied, balanced carbonation. There’s a nice balance between the oak, graininess and the whiskey. And the mix of sweet, sour and bitter is impressive for a beer in this price range. Overall, good!

Thanks David. Smooth mild malty beginning. Woody grainy with a slightly sourish touch - more like whisky sour than soured beer. Moderate bitter in the aftertaste, grain there and sourish whisky. A bit strange. --- Beer merged from original tick of Chuck's Barrel on 07 Apr 2020 at 21:45 - Score: 5. Original review text: Grainy with sourish whisky parts. Not well-balanced. Whisky sour with grain, not much bitterness. Somehow strange. Thanks David!

0,33 l bottle from a local Hol´ Ab! market. Unclear amber in the glass with a two finger foamy pale beige head. Malty smell with present whiskey barrel. Taste starts barrel woody, some grain, hints of chewing gum, intensive smooth whiskey. Less alcoholic. Low carbonated. Okay.

Starkbier mit 7,0 % Alk. Stammwürze unbekannt. Unpraktische 0,33 l Flasche.

Braukunst Live. Hazy dark golden with a lasting white head. Malty aroma with caramel and hints of spice and yeast. Sweet yeasty and malty flavour with hints of bourbon and tannin.

Fläschla: Deep golden, hazy, slowly collapsing medium-sized off-white head; mild woody-caramelly nose with hints of sweet smoke and tannic acid; moderate drier bitter-sweet flavour, medium bodied and a bit harsh; drier and lingering bitter-woody finish with some caramel. Quite an unharmonic brew...
