A traditional, easy drinking Yorkshire Bitter, made from all British ingredients. Pale copper in colour, this beer initially has sweet malt and honey on the palate, followed by a moderately bitter finish. The delicate hop aromas can be described as floral and spicy.

Initially brewed at Riverhead as Riverhead Butterley Bitter, since 2021 brewed at Ossett under their own brand, with the same recipe.

Clear, pale gold with a creamy white head and a light malt aroma, some floral hints in there too. Smooth and semi-creamy, it's a light malt and slightly biscuity beer, with a pleasant dollop of bitterness

Handpull cask at the Salt Beer Factory, Saltaire. Light to mid-golden, clear with a thin to medium white head and a lot of lacing. Light and slightly nutty aroma with the gentlest astringency. Sweet, clean taste with some leafy bitter hops giving balance to the finish. Really not a lot to it, but it's a seesiknable bitter so that's kind of the point.

Hand-pulled half-pint in The Station Hotel, Oakengates on 2nd Aug 2021. Clear and clean golden amber body, white topping. Nice easy going Bitter, good balance with a pleasant malty base for the hops to play with; nothing too strong, but nothing bland either. --- Beer aliased from original tick of Butterley Bitter on 05 Aug 2021 at 07:04 - Score: Appearance - 8 | Aroma - 7 | Flavor - 7 | Texture - 6 | Overall - 7.5. Leeds Beer Festival 2017. Golden ale. There’s some toffee notes that are slightly more stated, and linger longer in its taste than aroma.
